My Child Has Severe Hair Loss - What's Causing It and Can Remedies Help?

My son is 10 years old, and has been dealing with a severe case of eczema for years. It was really bad on his head and the hair loss was severe. I took him to the dermatologist and they put on some medicine for bacteria fungus infection and that did not work at all. And now they want a piece of his scalp.
I want to know if you might know what it could be that is causing his hair not grow at the top. And what kind of natural remedies can I use?
