Question About Activated Charcoal for Cat's Water Filter

My cat's water dish has a charcoal filter which is only available from the manufacturer...China. I want to make my own filters, and I'm wondering if food grade organic activated coconut charcoal is safe for my cat.

Yes, food grade activated charcoal is safe for pets and people! I have used it for cats, dogs, goats, and people over the years.
