Is There Alternative to a Mole Biopsy?

What is the alternative test for mole biopsy to check if it is not dangerous?

Hello,

My husband, aged 53 years, have 2 black moles of the size of a pencil eraser, one on his leg and one on the back, from long years, not grown much. When we went for annual physicals, my husband showed them to the doctor. He advised a biopsy and removal of the moles.

My question is does a biopsy cause harm to him?

Is it a good decission to go for it?

Or Are there any alternative testings to check if the mole is not dangerous?

Please let me know if any one have any suggestions, or solutions?
