Posted by Liliya K (Los Angeles ) on 09/28/2020

I have been struggling with chronic tension headaches daily for pretty much my entire life and they are usually accompanied by anxiety. The headache is usually in my temples and usually really bad in the morning and mostly all day until the the sun goes down and then I feel better. My temple tension headaches get so severe with anxiety to a point where I can't speak at all and forget basic words. Please help, I am 31 have been stiffening my entire life. The tension headache leads to social anxiety and makes it hard for me to socialize.

I suffered many things and I would say ask your inner self what is the source? Since you were little could mean you had a spine injury or sinus/dental issue or an emotional issue or mineral hydration issues. Pinning it down would help resolve it . Could even be a stomach issue . I had silent migraines from splitting off parts of my personality popping in and out of my core person. I don't have those anymore. For stress use some Gaba and B vitamins and get sun when you can on your skin and fresh air. Singing helps me break through stress. Blessings, Charity

Try magnesium L-threonate, the only Mg+ that passes the blood brain barrier. Start with one capsule at night. In addition, spray the bottom of your feet with magnesium oil before bed, throw some socks on...a couple squirts rubbed in will do. If you can tolerate 2 capsules at night, go for it. The strangest effect I get from this magnesium source is I’ll remember the tiniest details of a movie I saw 10 years ago or remember where I put a piece of paper 4 years ago. Let’s see if this works for you! I get there these Products off of the big A...

All th best!

Sounds like what I have had for years (2013) since I was Lyme infected. Frontal headaches every morning when I woke up to go to the bathroom. I noticed that my headache was controlled by caffeine. You could try that. I made some coffee, kept it in the fridge, drank some and minutes later headaches were gone (I bought caffeine powder later, diluted a bit in water and drank that - be mindful of dosing). This is no solution if you're sensitive to caffeine and sometimes falling back to sleep was a problem for me.

These headaches seem with me also get worse when I am exposed to artificial EMFs esp. 5G. I have learned to get over my 5G caused electrosensitivity (you don't want to have that, it's awful) with avoidance, diet and grounding.

I have lately switched to drinking a glass of ice coffee (left over coffee refrigerated) before bed and I now rarely have headaches. It is amazing. Wonderful to awake painfree!

PS: acupuncture also helped me when I was able to get it years ago but I would have needed to get back to it which was no option. Fortunately, I found another way.

Good luck to you.

Hey Liliya,

I can highly recommend Buteyko breathing for anxiety.. I gather it also works for tension headaches so it could do both for you :)

Wishing you well, Bill

My anxiety was debilitating until I found GABA. There is some discussion about whether GABA can actually cross the blood-brain barrier, but I am here to tell you that it works for me and many of my friends. The prices vary to a ridiculous amount. I don't know if EarthClinic allows, but my regular purchase has an orange and white label. I take 2 grams to 4 grams per day. The first week, take it at night. After that, I can take it before I drive to work without any sleepiness. This is the one supplement I cannot live without.

I hope you feel better soon.

Have you been to the dentist lately? I know someone who woke up with awful tension headaches like yours that lasted all day. She tried all manner of things. Peppermint essential oil applied on the temples and forehead cut the pain by 50% so you might try that. She also did progressive muscle relaxation exercises every day when she got home from work and that also helped relieve the muscle stiffening. However, it wasn't till she went to the dentist that she found she was grinding her teeth at night while she was sleeping (caused by a lot of stress in her life) and that was causing the headache pain all day. He gave her mouth guards to use when she slept and the headaches were eliminated. I would also echo the use of magnesium (600 mg a day - 200mg at each meal) and B vitamins that the others have suggested. As well as potassium and calcium too. Anything that would help you relax would be good - taking a good long walk out in nature every day or some other form of exercise outside if possible, chamomile or lemon balm tea or capsules, warm baths, massages, foot rubs, cuddling with a pet, etc. And figure out some ways to simply be good to yourself! You're worth it!

Make sure you are drinking enough good quality water and try taking Magnesium (preferably sea minerals). You could also massage the Sea Minerals or Magnesium oil onto you temples with a little DMSO.

Massage therapy is known for relieving anxiety, and also lengthening time between headaches. When you find a massage therapist, ask for a Swedish massage with not so deep tissue work so you can relax.

Not sure about the headaches, but I suffer extreme anxiety and large doses of Ashwaghanda has worked miracles for me. Also, pick up a copy of A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (or check him out on Youtube), he deals extensively with anxiety, anger, depression, etc. from a spiritual standpoint. His advice is priceless.

I use peppermint oil for headaches. I put it on my forehead and my neck. I also use an ice pack on my forehead. Valerian root is good for anxiety.

I get anxiety from food sometimes, either food poisoning or an allergy. It makes me feel like I can't breathe. Laxative helps.
