Would Astragalus Help Dog With Allergies?

Posted by Gayl (Bridgewater, Ct) on 05/15/2016

Hi all, I have an 85lb (baby) dog who has too many allergies to list. I was looking to boost his immune system. I was looking at Astragalus. Any thoughts? Or anything else you can think of. He's miserable and I hate seeing him like this. He also has nasty yeasty ears. He gets coconut oil, puréed pumpkin, coconut milk yogurt and ACV every day. And I found a great itch remedy spray that works amazing. I'll share if anyone wants it. Thanks for your help!!

So the spray is....

  • 1/2 cup ACV
  • 1/2 cup green tea
  • 1/2 cup peppermint or chamomile tea
  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 5 drops lavender oil

I put it in a spray bottle and shake it up. Spray all over(except eyes). My boy is afraid of the sprayer. I use an old sock and saturate it. Wipe it on his face and inside his ears. Smells great! I also spray it on the bed. Next time he gets a bath, I'm going to soak him with it.

Gayl, one eighth teaspoon to one quarter teaspoon for every ten pounds body weight. Thank you for the spray recipe!

I would look at his diet and feed raw if possible.

You can put coconut oil in his ears. which should help his ears. clean them first with a mixture of half water/half white vinegar.

But look at the remedy on here. Grapefruit seed extract.

Works well for yeast.
