Borax and Epsom Salt Baths For Pain Relief?

Posted by Cherie (Portland, Oregon ) on 03/05/2018

After having sipped borax water I found it soooo distasteful. Never been one to sip water all day either. I do fine with tea as long as there is plenty of honey, but to add borax to a tea tasted horrible too!

What about a small gel cap filled with an amount of Borax?? Has anyone tried that?

I had three separate (not at fault) car accidents over the years and the first in 2002 meant back surgery. The second car accident (2007) re-injured my back, really messed up my neck and I needed a jaw surgery too. The second car accident meant a traumatic brain injury and that second one was the one that had me in bed for almost 3 full years.

There was a 3rd car accident in 2010 and lets just say after that one I gave up driving and only take rides when no other options exist. I re-injured everything AGAIN but at the end of the day have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and arthritus in most all places I've injured in the separate accidents. I have hormonal problems, chronic pain and likely about 3 or 4 others on the long list of things boraz helps.

I have not been pain free since the car accident that damaged my back in 2002. My doctors prescribed oxycodone, valium, advil, tylenol and any other happy pill they could get me to take for years until I got wise and went off the anti depressants and began a reduction off of oxycodone and valium too.

I'm down to about 40 mgs per day from 430mg daily of oxycodone. I have completely weaned off of valium a long time ago. Won't be long til I'm completely off oxycodone too! (doc told me to get used to taking pain meds for life) NO WAY!!

I firmly believe now that It is the cause of my myseries rather than a help. I believe that long term it ruins the nerves and pain receptors so much that everything hurts and that's why fibromyalgia is diagnosed in so many chronic pain sufferers! Its probably full of heavy metals and certainly hurts the liver and causes depression too.

anyway, I digress.

I found Boron to be yucky tasting! I would like to know about the possibility of soaking in it every few days to absorb it in via the skin?? Would I be able to absorb enough to help heal my issues??

I had two long warm tub soaks in the last few days ....I put in a cup of epsome salt with pink himelayan sea salt and about half a cup of borax in a normal size bathtub that was filled up to the rim and I stayed in for about an hour just enjoying the nice clean smell and hoping it was going to benefit me!

I don't feel a miraculous change with my 2 soaks....but I also know it may be a bit to help my 47 year old body get what it needs to feel better too.

One of the reasons I was able to take such an elephant dosage of oxycodone and valium is because I have absorption issues with my stomach being partially gone. I had a weight loss surgery called roux en y gastric bypass back in 2000 (my 2009 dosage was 430 mg per day of oxy. & 300 mg per day of val.) and there was tylenol, advil or ibuprophin in there too.

I am hoping to get an answer to how much the soaks will help or if there is a better method for the soaks IE maybe use 2 cups or borax instead of half a cup? or if gel caps filled with borax may be acceptible too.

Cherie: Yes, you can fill empty gel-caps with Borax for oral consumption. Recently I also take Boron caps with the Borax for a greater range of effect. I take Borax & Epsom Salts hot baths of less than 1/4 cup each plus other minerals like Calcium & Strontium for my bones. Also worthy to note is a few grms of Diatomaceous Earth which is high in Silica which promotes healing. You may also consider supplementing the mineral Manganese for bone health as it strengthens considerably.

As for Pink Himalayan Salt, that goes on food only in my house, and use Sea Salt for baths.

I use Magnet Therapy extensively for my chronic bone infections which keeps the pain down considerably. You may also try SalonPas as they help.

You must try Hemp/CBD Salve/Ointment for topical and the Oil oral to compliment the opioids. They work synergically very well to manage & reduce chronic pain. If you live in Portland Or you should be able to find a good Medical Marijuana Dr to help with the correct dosages, if can't find good Dr, try some High CBD low THC Indica strain from local dispensary, tell them you are dealing with chronic pain and get you the right product. The higher the THC the more intoxicating but if used properly (like before retiring) can be extremely beneficial. It's all about the correct Med MJ strain at correct dosage for your specific condition, so yes, start with the non-intoxicating Hemp/CBD Salve and slowly find what's best.

For overall relaxing and as an effective substitute for Valium is many herbal or homeopathic formulas. One of my favs is Hyland's Calms Forte'. Also the amino acid GABA works like Valium but isn't a drug and also boost Human Growth Hormone (HGH) or IGF-1 which is an effective anti-aging hormone.

Hope this helps.
