Can Anything Help 15 Year Cat Who Lost Hearing

My cat is almost 15 yrs old and seems to have lost his hearing, sleeps alot but does not seem to be in any kind of distress.Took him to the vet and vet said he seemed fine. I cleaned his ears with a tissue yesterday and noticed some blackish kunk and a squish sound in one of his ears (the one he really doesn't want you to clean). The vet checked him for mites and found none. Not sure what's wrong with him and how I can help :(

Hey Toni!
If this were my cat I would try Zymox Otic - buy online. This is particularly good for sore ears that you cannot easily clean. It is hard to say why your cat has gone deaf, but old age certainly is a culprit. The only thing I can think of - and it may be impossible to do - is to candle the ears.
