Canine With Heart Murmur Has Excess Fluid, What Remedies Can Help?

Posted by Lyonheart (Ellijay, Ga.) on 01/05/2018

I already sent this 2 days ago.

No reply.

My 13 yo Beagle Lucky has heart murmur, diagnosed about a year ago by a Vetranarian.

He has had coughing spasmatic spells, fluid buildup in respiratory, often labored breathing.

I have been administering hawthorn berry, white willow, some probiotic, blue green algae, fish oil, and di-ribose.

I believe he has an enlarged heart, not sure.

His appetite is very good, energy level up and down..., down at times after a breathing/ gagging fluid spell.

What can I do to get rid of his excess fluid?

Hey Lyonheart,

This is a volunteer/user contributor forum. It is possible folks did not reply because they simply had no experience with the issue, or those who do are not online and have yet to see your post. The best advice I can offer is to read through everything for tips and then form your own path to your pet's healing - and then share your results here so all may benefit from your experience. I will also add that you might consider veterinarian prescribed pharmaceuticals for your dog's condition as they tend to provide more immediate results vs the slow acting results obtained from the remedies you are using. Drugs can be helpful to remedy a situation where there is suffering and thus the benefit might outweigh perceived risks.

I'm having good results giving my 13 year old, 10 pound Chiweenie fresh watermelon chunks every morning. In the raw food diet I feed him, I also add New Chapter's Water Factors (2 tabs, finely crushed, twice a day).
