What Can I Do for Ear Polyps in My Cat?

Posted by Rockel (Us) on 09/12/2016

Help! My cat Freya has a (non-cancerous) polyp in her ear and it is getting bigger. I am opting out of the surgery for this because it is very expensive and it reportedly often comes back. She currently gets steroid drops in her ear. The vet recommends 3-4 drops every day once a day but we usually do it every other day as I do not like using this on her and she is fine till the third day without it. I am hoping there is a more natural remedy out there for her that could eliminate it without going in surgically. I do not want it to get worse or spread. My poor baby has the ear flop and hair coming off her ear from damaged nerves from scratching too much. She and her sister are both long haired torties (her sister a diluted tortie) with allergies that give them yeast infections in their ears. The diluted tortie has much worse allergies. I only give them grain/poultry/careegenan/ dye/colorant free food. I dont know that using vinegar would be good for her since her ear is so sensitive already. Would castor oil help? I haven`t seen any posts on ear polyps specifically. Any help is greatly appreciated!
