Daughter Might Have Strep or Mono - Will Coconut Oil Help?
Strep or Mono I don't know
I took my daughter into the Dr's office because she was feeling really bad. It looked like Strep, which she has never had. Ache, sore throat, very tired, headache, etc... The Dr. thought that's what it looked like as well. The test came back negative and surprised us both. He said it could be mono but couldn't test for it there... good grief!
I saw on this site that coconut oil was amazing for Mono and yet cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar was great for strep. I don't want to over burden her body. Does anyone know if organic, virgin, cold pressed, coconut oil would help whether or not its strep or mono? Or should I go find a lab that will do both tests? I just hate to take her out because it makes her feel worse. So far the only symptom I have is tired and weakness.

Dear AM,
Does your daughter have a fever? Strep usually comes with a fever. Coconut oil is an amazing antiviral, but I am not sure of its effectiveness for bacterial infections like strep. We have had wonderful success with coconut oil for mono.
How old is your daughter? If she can swallow odorless garlic pills, we have found them to be amazing for strep, and a pretty easy remedy.
If she doesn't have a fever I think you could wait a day or two and treat with coconut oil and see how she does before going for testing; maybe it won't be needed. If she has a fever though I would get tested to see what you are dealing with or include garlic in treatment to be safe.
