Using DHEA for Vaginal Atrophy, Concerned About Lichen Sclerosus and Cancer

Posted by Frances (Cabarlah, Qld. ) on 09/04/2017

Would using DHEA in cream for severe vaginal atrophy be advisable for me with Lichen Sclerosis (considered pre-cancerous).

Not sure what you have already tried or added to your routine but I would use a magnesium first and all the minerals with it in the correct balance . Hydration is dependent on mineral balance.

Dr . Johnathan Wright wrote an article, I don't know where, I read it, about using iodine in vagina, you need to find the dose that works for you, to reset the hormones in the area, I use it daily 3 drops. I use Lugols.( beginning Iodine can cause itching and rashes so use caution ) I use oral 5 mg DHEA every 2-3 days and progesterone cream. Most cancer is from estrogen imbalance and progesterone balances it out. D-3 K-2 are necessary for mineral absorption. Hope someone else can help you by their experience.

Francis did you ever try the DHEA cream?

Charity - do you mean you wash/ rub iodine in the area and had supplementing with the DHEA helped

Are either of you in remission?

Thanks

Doreen, the US product Intrarosa with DHEA is not available in Australia and will never be as the chemist/pharmacist told me DHEA is not permitted. I don't know how the lady from Brisbane commenting on here managed to get a compounding chemist/pharmacist to make it up for her. However, there is a way around it, a loophole. As I have complications of fusing with the LS, I haven't been faithful with the DHEA use (DIY with coconut oil).

I use a 10mg Dhea every four days by mouth now. Borax foot soaks 3 x week. I also still use 1-4 drops of lugols iodine on my body daily. My prolapse pain was awfull. That was years ago and now it is up mostly and my pain is maybe a one.I still have bad days from lifting too much or walking too far or stress. I bike an hour most days and ride slow and enjoy the outdoors on level ground. Horsetail, bone broth, minerals, vitamins, and aminos . I think the whole thing is caused by aging and deficiency . Fix the imbalances and be happier, because once the bladder falls other stuff is just waiting to happen from same problems. I have other things to overcome. I use comfrey creams now too. Sunbathing is very important for hormones too. I also use a dab of progesterone and estrogen from emerita. Always keep hope and faith stirred up and stay positive .

Charity, in Europe they are using hypopressive exercises for prolapse. I don't know if it's "in" in America.

I must research this exercise. Readers be forewarned if you are considering a mesh for prolapse. It certainly has not been perfected and there is a class action going by those who've had the surgery.
