Dysautonomia And Rapid Fluctuating Blood Pressure

Posted by Doshee (Marshall, California, Usa) on 07/08/2011

Thank you for this fantastic resource. I have been diagnosed with dysautonomia, the most troubling symptom of which is that my blood pressure rises rapidly when I lie down and drops rapidly when I stand. For example, last night, while asleep, my BP rose to 200/102, Heart Rate 60. 4 minutes later, after going to the bathroom, I took my BP again and it was 90/55, HR 66. I have been on minoxidil at night and metoprolol during the day to counteract the cardiac arrhythmia caused by minoxidil. Recently reduced the minoxidil because I cannot function with the arrhythmia, which metoprolol was no longer treating. I have tried sleeping sitting up, but my nocturnal BPs are still regularly in the 170s.

So I'm desperate to find out what remedies might work for this rapid fluctuation in BP. It has been happening for a long time and getting worse despite my cardiologist's best efforts.

I am wondering which resource you are referring to here. My daughter has dysautonomia and I am trying to find some natural treatments. Thank you.
