Extreme Upper Right Quadrant Pain

Posted by Heavenlyrays49 (Orillia, Ontario, Canada) on 06/19/2013

Liver Pain: Hi everyone I am new to this site but have been reading the posts. I am a 49 yr old female with a list of medical issues. I have heart disease, had heart surgery yrs ago to repair and asd. I now am on medication for palpitations. I also have type 2 diabetes, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and have 3 of the 4 markers required for the diagnosis of MS. My GP is 99% sure I have it as am I. I also take plavix for a TIA I had 3 yrs ago and Crestor as well.

This past 11 days I have been extremely ill. I picked up a stomach bug from my grandchildren and had severe diarreha for 5 days. I had no appetite for 9 days and lost 12 lbs. On the 7th day I began experiencing extreme upper right quadrant pain radiating around my side and into my back. I was running a temp of 103. I went to my GP this past monday and after an exam he said I needed to go to emerg for an evaluation. He said it was either my kidney, liver or pancreas, all life threatening. This of course terrified me and I have not gone to emerg. I am afraid of the unknown. I know I have fatty liver disease and I know in my heart that this is liver related. I must also mention I have taken tylenol with codeine for yrs for severe migraines and of course pain. I know I have taken an excess of what is considered safe, not because I am an addict but because I am in chronic pain daily and have been since the age of 17. I have been given anti depressants and N/sads they do not work. So please do not judge me on the use of the tylenol. I have been forthright with my doc about how much I was taking asked several times for something else because I knew this was going to be an issue for the liver. He just kept pushing the same useless crap at me like Cymbalta etc.

So now I am sitting here terrified that my liver is in bad shape and afraid I am going to die if I can't get help. I don't want more drugs thrown at me I want a way to cleanse my body, my liver and my mind. Can someone please tell me if using the Milk Thistle with Artichoke combined with Selenium and ALA will help me. I also read that too much selenium is bad for the brain. I know my GP is going to be furious I did not go to emerg as he wrote on the paperwork risk to life. I hope someone here can understand my fear as to why I didn't go as my family is having a hard time accepting it.

Can I really reverse a fatty liver and whatever else may be wrong with it but just doing these things and perhaps the oil packs? I do have a req for blood work which I will do so I will get the results of the liver and will be able to compare them next time in hopes they have improved. PLEASE PLEASE someone help me. I am terrified as I said.

Go to the emergency room - get checked out then come back and heal with natural treatments. Go now. Good Luck x

Please stop taking tylenol and go to the hospital. I have never heard of rebuilding the liver but perhaps someone knows more about this. I sure hope it can be done.

Heavenlyrays49: It is the way of conventional medical interest to not recommend natural remedies like you are reading here on E.C. So, you must make a mental effort to program yourself that conventional MD's are here to treat the symptoms of the public's disease, and it is yourself that must assume responsibility for your HEALTH. Coming here is the first big step. Next, the supplements you suggested are, combined, powerful liver protectors. Selenium is toxic in high doses; Not more than 200mcg daily on Se. For help in rebuilding a healthy liver also either supplement Raw Liver Glandular or Raw Liver Extract, or eat cooked chicken or calf liver once or twice a week until you see big improvements.

Drop your fear, begin taking the regimen you listed, and you will begin getting better straight-way. From your testimony, you really have a long way to go before you could be considered somewhat healthy, but you can make big progress. Continue reading the post here on E.C. and begin believing in the power of natural remedies as well as yourself and in a yr or two you can have something to be proud of.

Continue posting your questions and results and E.C.ers will help you along the way.

I'm not an expert by any means. But I have used milk thistle, ALA, and Artichoke extract for a fatty liver. What I've used and worked well is Pantethine. Read up on it. It's good stuff. I'm 48 and had to have my gallbladder removed a couple of years ago. You may very well just be having issues with that. You won't know though until you get yourself checked out. You may be terrified for nothing. -Best wishes.

Heavenlyrays49, Please don't give up. Liver can definitely be rebuilt. One thing, take responsibility for yourself, get rid of all those useless drugs and take a deep breath.

Here on EC is a post for youtube on "PH Miracle". This doctor is 61 years old and looks easily like a healthy forty. He teaches on juicing and reversing many diseases. Look it up. It has helped many. It also helps greatly with weight loss.

Liver loves greens and green drinks. Turning things around requires a positive mind. So do some self affirmations and know it can be as simple as juicing.

Eastern medicine advises to detox gently, without ever overdoing it and getting onto supplements only after or you might otherwise feed the toxins.

You can do it. Best of luck, Om

Who knows your pain... but you? No one can judge from the stands what you have taken to make it this far in your struggles. I commend you. Don't judge yourself. A flu set you back and they can misdiagnose even in the ER so don't let the fear overtake you. I went to the ER with L upper quadrant extreme pain and they couldn't help me but gave me pain meds that weren't touching the pain and sent me home. I had been to my PC the day before and got a pain shot. She thought it was emotions. I ended up with a chipped bone fragment caught between two discs in my spine paralyzing my left upper quadrant and no amount of pain pills could stop the agony. Don't assume anything until you know they are diagnosing it correctly. The flu may be your current situation, not the things they are saying or the things you are fearing. Move foreward. Love yourself for doing the best you know how to do. Believe it will work out for good and you are getting healthier and not sicker. The mind is powerful. Love, Joy
