Why Do I Get a Funny Metallic Taste After Taking Lugol's Iodine?
Does anyone know why I get a funny metallic taste in my mouth about an hour after taking one drop of lugol's? It lasts most of the day if I take it in the morning.
S: Iodine has the ability to displace many heavy metals from their hiding places throughout the body. So when one first begins taking therapeutic doses of Iodine, those toxic metals get released back into the bloodstream and the liver & kidneys do their best at detoxifying or eliminating them, but this effort is only marginally effective and most of the H.M.'s get dumped into the gallbladder then the gut and back into the bloodstream again.
To remove these H.M.'s (heavy metals) take either Activated Charcoal or Bentonite Clay 30 minutes prior to meals. The metallic taste should now disappear.
