Giving Borax to Pets

Posted by Traci (Johannesburg) on 10/03/2018

Hello! Thank you for this informative website. I am amazed to learn the benefits of borax for arthritis and general health, and would like to start giving it to my aging dog for his aches & pains, and the other dogs too (and the humans! )

It will be difficult to add it to their water as they have several water sources. Can I make the solution (1 tsp borax + 1 liter water) and simply put a teaspoon of the solution into their food daily?

Thank you very much!

I don't know the dosage of Borax for pets. I understand that for women, it's 1/8 teaspoon per 1 litre of water; for men it's 1/4 teaspoon per liter of water. I would think a whole teaspoon would be far too much for a dog. You should do more research to find out the dosage. Hopefully Theresa can weigh in :-)
