Seeking Help for Hair Thinning, Relentless Sugar Cravings, Brain Fog

Hello Ted et all,

I was wondering if you might be able to provide some guidance in regards to a few related issues that I have had for approx. 15 years. I am at the end of my tether.

About 25 years ago I was prescribed Dianette (anti androgen) to help with my oily skin. It was very good at improving my skin, I also noticed that my hair became very thick and I lost a significant amount of weight - something I had been trying to accomplish for a long time. Anyhow, after 5 or so years of taking the pill, I decided to stop because I read about cancer scares and also because it was synthetic and I didn't want to take it forever.

Since I came off the pill, my hair has become thin. I had a period of about 2 years where it was shedding a lot but I've managed to control that with things like coconut and almond oil. My skin became and still is very oily (I'm 45) and I started putting on weight at an alarming rate. From 2006 till now, I have put on 7 stones in weight and it is now affecting my health and self esteem.

I have tried various diets but nothing works or it works for a while and then stops. So instead I aim to eat healthy mostly home cooked meals and keep sugar low as we have diabetes in my family.

The thing that makes it hard is that I have relentless sugar cravings and low energy and the thing I am really baffled about is feeling hungry almost immediately after eating a good sized meal. Obviously, this isn't helping in any aspirations I have of fat loss.

I have tried many things such as cinnamon, black seeds, lemon juice in water, apple cider vinegar, Garcinia cambogia, kelp, honey etc. And here's the thing; some of these things help to suppress my appetite really well but I also notice that within 24 hours my hair has become thin. Please believe me when I say this. I am not exaggerating. I have seen this time and time again and I cannot continue to take those things because of the hair thinning I get almost immediately. I had to stop eating oatmeal because it does the same thing.

I have researched and found that the foods, supplements or herbs that cause hair thinning in me, either lower cholesterol or estrogen, and therefore I avoid anything that does that.

I should also mention that when the hair thinning is happening, my scalp becomes kind of itchy, and even my family have noticed the hair thinning within a day or 2.

The doctor told me that my androgen levels were slightly high and I am slightly hypothyroid too. I went to a private doctor years ago when I first starting putting on weight and she put me on medication for my adrenals, but after a while I came off those things because I didn't feel better and it just seemed like the whole idea was to make money and not make me better.

Just recently I tried taking a little borax in drinking water and it got rid of the ravenous hunger feeling I had been having for 2 weeks prior to that. I was taking HCL and even that wasn't doing too much but the borax helped, so thank you for that.

I am sorry this is long, but I needed to explain what has been happening with me as it has been going on for a very long time.

I have a tendency towards anxiety and depression, I get brain fog and sometimes find it hard to articulate myself. My body hurts so much especially when I exercise. I used to walk for miles, now I'm lucky if I walk half a mile. But I need to exercise to increase my strength and lose weight.

I do not know what to do now, and would be grateful for any insights you may be able to provide.

God bless!

For so many symptoms - I would do two things. I would stop taking stuff for the symptoms and eat a beef roast. Nothing else. Just beef roast - basically, zero carb. Meat and water. And as much as it took to feel satiated.

When you don't know what's going on and treat symptoms, you create additional symptoms until you eventually end up with a cacophony of symptoms.

The meat is going to get used. Everything your body does requires water, salt, fat and protein. Anything else it needs, it can make! And when it's out of whack, it needs some peace. The meat is going to get used up so, when you're hungry, eat some, and your body will use it to do what it needs to do but you have to stop trying to tell it what you want it to do because it has to deal with everything you're throwing at it in addition to trying to get around it all so it can do what needs to be done.

Your body knows what to do. But it needs the interference to stop so it can do it without having to stop every five minutes to take care of or navigate around all of the stuff you're throwing at it.

It probably won't do what you think needs doing, at first, because the first thing it's going to do is fix whatever is most urgent and you have no way of knowing what that could be. It could be some kind of damage that trying to handle all of those elements is doing to your kidneys or even your heart.

Give your body what it needs to do what needs done and get out of its way.

I suspect the symptoms pile up because there is something urgent the body is trying to do and, so, it is directing what you're throwing at it just to get it out of its way which is wreaking havoc all over the place.

Anyway, reality was taking care of life for a long damn time before man came along. It knows what to do. It's not going to fix everything overnight but you didn't dump all of that stuff on it all at once, either.
