Health Benefits of Phase Two Antioxidant Enzymes?

Posted by Larry (Fairfax, Va) on 01/16/2016

Is anyone familiar with Phase 2 antioxidants & their significant health benefits, including lowering blood sugar? I understand that certain foods, including strawberries contain an enzyme which causes the body to produce additional Phase 2 antioxidants. What other nutrients increase these type of antioxidants? What are some of the health benefits of these antioxidants that you are aware of? Thanks, Larry/Fairfax, VA

L: The single most needed detox enzyme is Glutathione, so there are many ways of increasing and much info over the www.In my experience, I have found the best way to increase G is to supplement Selenium, Melatonin, and NAC. G is used in both phase 1&2.

Indole Three Carbinol aka I3C aka Sulphoraphane is proly the single most overall P-450 1&2 booster. Lemons & Oranges are mild P-450 1&2 boosters so usually for a therapeutic effect D-Limonene Softgels is used. Do not assume Grapefruit could be used in place of Oranges or Lemons as Grapefruit has an antagonistic effect on the P-450 system.

Also in the plant group of enzyme boosters is Sprouts Concentrate, usually Wheat Sprout Concentrate which is very high in Glutathione Peroxidase, Methionine Reductase, Catalase, Superoxide Dismutase.

Lastly, since the Liver is the major detox factory in the body, to keep the P-450 up it is important to take a combination of Milk Thistle, Turmeric, and Artichoke at least once daily.

Not to forget almost all vitamins & minerals combine to create thousands of coenzymes & enzymes, so any deficiency of essential nutrition will cause a reduction in enzyme production.
