Help Needed For Cancer Causing Esophageal Stricture

Posted by Nancy (Wyoming, US) on 11/25/2014

I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but feel if all the steps and details are included, it might better aid me in getting knowledgeable, experienced advice, which I desperately need asap.

Last spring, after switching to a wheat/grain free diet for a few months, I began having constant constipation, then esophageal spasms. Feeling that the constipation was possibly from diet, I added more veggies and water, to no avail; and the spasms possibly from a hiatal hernia diagnosed years before, had chiropractic adjustments, which seemed to help temporarily.

I then noticed occasionally, when I ate, I felt full after only 2 or 3 bites. Most times I ate a full meal with no problems. The "early full" feeling started coming more frequently and after a couple of months, I had lost about 20 pounds. The constipation continued, along with constant gas, pain and discomfort in stomach and intestinal area and occasional nausea, and low appetite.

Although I had pretty much written off conventional doctors because they had failed me miserably in the past, I resorted to having some testing done to try to get to the bottom of this. A gallbladder US (normal) and a barium swallow (showing an esophageal restriction where a swallowed pill couldn't even pass through) were performed. Next, a CT scan, showing a " mass under the liver" which they felt was harmless but suggested a biopsy...also an endoscopy to check the restriction. I had these performed, biopsies showed adenocarcinoma in esophagus and mass under liver.

I was immediately referred to an oncologist who ordered a PET scan, which showed the cancer present in esophagus, and just around the very outside edges of mass (which they decided was a lump of lymph nodes that had conglomerated there).

After much thought, researching survival statistics, etc. concerning the treatments of radiation and chemo which were offered me, and considering my weakened state, ( I had lost around 40 pounds by this time and surviving on soup broths, Boost, and any other soft, liquid foods I could get down), I opted to travel to Mexico to be evaluated for the Hoxsey treatment. I have been attempting this treatment for a few weeks now, which consists of the tonic, and a few herb capsules taken several times a day, with food. They told me juices, soups, etc qualify as food, so figured I could do this. But I'm having an awful time, as I have no appetite and have to force myself to take in pretty much anything. I cannot swallow the pills, and have tried opening them and mixing with things, but the awful bitterness of them send me to the bathroom retching. Although I am managing the tonic a few times a day.

To date, I've lost about 70 lbs., basically bones with skin hanging off them. I'm very weak, constant stomach pain, "trapped" gas, feel painfully stuffed after a few bites of anything, constipated 95% of the time, constant mucus building in mouth and throat (feel like I'm foaming at the mouth all the time, drives me nuts) the mucus triggers my gag, and I throw up almost daily, but at least that helps me get rid of some of it. My stomach muscles feel almost non existent, no help in bm's, coughing, or even blowing my nose! I feel my digestive system is completely out of whack and I don't know how to turn it around. I'm hoping someone will have some first or second-hand experience with a situation at least similar to mine and be able to give me some knowledgable advice. I would be very grateful.

Dear Nancy,

You apologized for your long post...but it was really helpful in getting a picture of what you are going through and dealing with.

I am by no means an expert or experienced in what you are dealing with. But I am someone who cares and likes to study and apply natural treatments. I have read your post a couple of times and the thing that I think of is: activated charcoal. It is very gentle yet amazingly effective. Since you are having such a hard time with getting things down and keeping things down, it might be helpful to do things externally. We have used charcoal externally for years with great success.

If you go to this page, there are several cancer/charcoal stories.

If you decide to try and charcoal drinks, be sure to take them 2 hours away from any supplements or medication. Poultices can be used any time. I like to use them overnight for convenience.

The other thing I have wondered about for you is Essiac Tea. It has Slippery Elm in it, which is very gentle and healing to the digestive tract.

I hope that others here will have some ideas for you and that one or more of them will bring you healing and relief.

Hi Nancy, my heart goes out to you & I pray you have the support you need at this time.

I have been having spasms also and can't swallow, clear mucous build up nowhere to go but out the mouth but muscles won't allow spitting. When this happens I wet my finger & dip it into some epsom salts or magnesium citrate powder & put my finger under my tongue & let the magnesium dissolve sublingually. After 1-2 mins I can spit. I usually repeat and can then swallow. Then take a few mouthfulls of water. when going through these periods I will do the magnesium before the next time I eat. This may be worth a try before you eat.

It would be worth searching selenium including sodium selenite as there are now studies that prove a link between low selenium and this cancer. it is also being used in treatment when chemo fails and getting remission results.

All the best in your journey, God bless.
