Help Needed for Cat with Possible Cancer and Digestive Disorder

Our cat Thomas has been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease after vomiting continually. He has been given steroids and painkillers and put on Royal Canin sensitive wet and dry food. Xrays and cat scans have revealed a suspected abscess or tumour in his lung and now a narrowing of part of his intestine again suspect tumour. I refused to let them operate on a guess, he was so traumatised by all the tests etc. He also had an infection in his nose which they washed out and gave him antibiotics. They think it relates to what is going on in his lung. The first course of antibiotics cleared the infection but now he is snuffly again and has been put on another course. What can I do to help him?
