Is Coconut Oil Safe for Cats?

Posted by Lizbear (Wyoming) on 06/19/2015

My 13 1/2 year old cat, otherwise very healthy, has a large cyst on his shoulder. I have been giving him a dose of cat essiac and have been putting healing clay on it. It has stopped growing but, I'm wondering if coconut oil is safe for cats. I want to make a paste of coconut oil and turmeric to put on it. Thank you for any replies. I am also giving him colloidal silver and vitamin C.

Thank you. Now, in the use of healing clay on a cat cyst, I have been leaving the clay on, then, rinsing and removing it a day or two later. Then, I reapply it. I'm not sure exactly how this should be done. Do I leave the clay on, a few hours, a day or two re-apply, and, can I use coconut oil with the clay?

Hello, again, I have another question. Is myhhr and golden seal salve with beeswax okay to use on a cat? Thank you for your replies.

Hey Lizbear!

Regarding the salve, it is really hard to say as so much depends on the quality and concentration of the myhrr and goldenseal. My gut reaction is NO.

Hey Lizbear!

I would change the clay daily and I would NOT mix it with the coconut oil as it might inhibit the working action of the clay. JMHO!
