Is Teds Mange Cure Safe For Nursing Dog

Posted by Jon (Shadow Hills, Ca) on 12/07/2014

I have a "wild" dog that showed up in the back yard about 4 months ago. After lots of treats and coaxing, she will now let us pet her. About a week ago, she started losing hair around her neck and face, then 4 days ago, she surprised us with a litter of 4 puppies. The itching and hair loss has has gotten much worse since the birth of the babies. She is so slow and tired, at this point, I am confident I could try Ted's treatment, but want to know if there is a safe way to do it while she is nursing.

Hey Jon!

Ted's mange remedy is perfectly safe for mom and nursing puppies. Time the bath for after the pups have nursed and are sleeping. You will need to keep the mom damp for at least half an hour after you take her from the tub, so heat up a room where she can drip dry in a crate and then let her out after half an hour and either blow dry or towel dry - just make sure she is dry when she goes back to the pups; if she is very damp the pups will become damp and then catch a chill, so be very careful that she is as dry as possible and that the room is warm.
