Dear Heather,
We have used turmeric to treat Staph infections in people and goats. It works very well taken internally.
For an adult, 1 teaspoon twice a day in milk (or 4 capsules twice a day.) It is best taken with some fat, but we didn't always do that and it still works.
To dose you cats...well, it depends on their weight. I gave a 40lb child between 1/4 and 1/2 teaspoon a day of turmeric. (I mixed it in honey to give him.) So, for a 10 pound cat perhaps, 1/16th to 1/8th teaspoon twice a day mixed in some wet cat food.
Can you see the infection on the skin of your cats? You can use some diluted apple cider vinegar on the spots a few times a day (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water.) You can bathe your cats in garlic water. Crush a clove of garlic and let it sit for an hour. Add to warm water in a bucket and bathe cat in it. You can also put a few drops of tea tree essential oil in a tablespoon of coconut oil and put on any spots on the cat twice a day. Some say not to use essential oils on cats. But we did use them on a cat that had ringworm (and kept giving it to my children) and it worked when the vet's medication did not. (1 part tea tree, 1 part lavender, 2 parts olive oil was what we used, by the way.)
Turmeric alone wasn't working for my goat. We ended up using 1 part garlic powder, 1 part olive leaf powder and 1 part Oregon Grape Root powder (internally.) We gave a 120 lb goat 1 Tablespoon of this mix twice a day and it worked. Took a while, but it worked and never returned.
I hope you both are healed soon. Please report back what you try and what helps!

H: Try a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in their drinking water bowl. Slowly increase untill you see results. Be careful to not use too much as your kitties will go fast.
Also be sure to use kitty food that does not have too much additives and coloring; these can diminish immune function which would cause the infections. Caned food labeled "with gravy" is usually way overload w/ msg's and this is not good.
Also try and find dry food that contains vit-e (purina has one) as cats health improve dramatically from E. You can also add vit-e from softgels to their food, but again be very careful to add only one drop of e to several portions of food as too much E will also make them go fast.

Hi again, Heather,
I checked my herb book by Lalitha Thomas, as I recalled she had done the garlic water bath for a kitten. (It had some infections due to being attacked by a wild animal.) She used as much as one clove of garlic per cup of water and kept her cat in the "bath" for 15 minutes. Not sure how you would do that. (She was dealing with a weak kitten.) None of our pets have ever been fond of baths!

Hey Heather!
You may find Ted's Anti-fungal/staph solution worth a try.

I would use E-collars on the cats to allow them to air dry as much as possible as if they lick off all the solution it may cause them to have loose stools.
