Kidney Infection in Cat, Please Help

Posted by Helen (Birmingham, England ) on 09/12/2018

Hi,

Please, can you help? My little cat is 11 and has been suffering with her kidneys now for a year but seems to be getting worse. I took her to the vets over the weekend and they flushed them through but the didn't really make much difference her count was off the chart. They suggested she may to be put to sleep. in the meantime I have been giving her Reiki and lots of love and she seems to have perked up and is eating and drinking even purring. she has gone outside and started to clean herself. Can you please recommend anything I can give her to help her kidneys.

Thanks, Helen

My brother's little cat was 11 years old when the vet said "no hope". He switched her to Halo brand wet food ( I don't know if you have that in England) and she lived to be 21! I have done raw and cooked food with my kitties so I would suggest preparing food for your kitty. The most important addition is apple cider vinegar (acv) with the mother (Bragg's is the brand we use here). You could add 1/4 teaspoon to her food daily and offer 2 bowls of water: one with Apple Cider Vinegar and one just plain water.

Helen, keep with the Reiki and your love as your fur baby knows you love her so much! Sending love and light

Namaste

Hello Helen,

I apologize for a tardy reply. I have thought much about your kitty. I believe a raw/home prepared diet may be the most helpful at this time.

Hi there- to help cure the actual infection, there are herbal drops you can use such as Echinacea and goldenseal and you can find them on Amazon. Another thing to do to flush out the kidneys is to boil dried corn silk and flax seed. Boil separately. Take a good amount of corn silk and boil until water is very dark yellow- strain and set to cool. Take 1/4 cup of whole flax seed and add 1/2 cup of water. Boil until a thick clear syrup is formed. Strain into a container after cooling. Add the corn silk water and dilute the flax seed syrup. Shake until blended. Store in a glass jar in the fridge. Give via oral syringe several times daily. This will return her kidney levels to normal. Good luck!
