Kidney (9mm) stone in the lower pole of my left kidney

My stone has not left my kidney yet. It's in the lower pole of my kidney. I'm trying to be proactive to dissolve or break up the stone before it leaves my kidney. I read many many post on this site about natural remedies to dissolve or breakdown the stones so they pass naturally. My question is this. Do these remedies work on stones that are still in your kidneys, or only on stones that have exited the kidney and is somewhere in the ureter or bladder.

Hi Duke,

I have had very good experience with Chanca Piedra at 3000 mg per day in three divided doses of 1000 mg each for stones that are still in the kidneys. So it is one option you can talk to your doctor about.

Barbara O'Neal often talks about castor oil compresses. She says to make a compress and apply it to the area where the problem is. According to her, castor oil goes deeper into the tissue than any other oil, and it will dissolve any lumps, bumps, lesions, stones, etc—anything that should not be there.

She went on to say that castor oil will even completely dissolve gallstones AND kidney stones! However, it is my understanding that stones can take weeks, at minimum, to fully dissolve. But if you could prevent the stone from traveling through the ureter by working on dissolving it with castor oil, even if it took some time, it would definitely be worth it!

I wish I would've known this years ago. I l've suffered from 34 different kidney stone attacks since April of 2004, and I've had five surgeries for stones that I was unable to pass (three ureteroscopies, and two lithotripsy procedures—one bilateral, and the other one unilateral).

I rarely have them anymore (thank goodness), and the stones are much smaller now whenever I do. That's due to diet and lifestyle improvements, and drinking lots of water. But, when I WAS having so many of them, I would have BATHED in castor oil CONSTANTLY if I would've thought that it could've alleviated the pain!

Barbara O'Neal recommends wearing the compress at night while sleeping, or at any convenient time. But the goal is to keep it on as long as possible. The same compress can also be reused just by adding a little more castor oil as your body absorbs it from the compress.

But, please, allow Ms. Barbara to tell you all about it. She's brilliant when it comes to herbs and how the body works! She has such a soothing voice, too, and I really enjoy listening to her. I've learned so much about medicinal herbs from her videos, and I love the fact that she often quotes the Bible.

Just search the web for videos of her castor oil lectures. I usually see her videos on Tik Tok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter).

Take care, and good luck!
