Not Feeling Better After Two Years of Antibiotics for Lyme
Lyme disease?
Dear friends,
5 years ago I suffered a herniated disc in the area of the lumbar spine, exercise and rehabilitation helped me. Gradually, however, the tingling and burning of the legs increased - doctor assumed that the problems were related to the hernia. Added tingling in hands and tremor, pain in the back of the head, anxiety and panic attacks, and again lower back pain and nerve pain in the back of the thighs. Diagnosis - Lyme disease, I was treated for approx. 2 years with antibiotics (Minocycline, Azithromycin, later IV Ceftriaxone), but practically without improvement. Overall, I feel very bad. I have a hungover, I feel like poisoned (I don't drink alcohol). All tests are practically without findings. I have elevated bilirubin since childhood. Thyroid is OK. I don't have diabetes. Can you please advise me how to continue the treatment.
Your website is a great inspiration for me and for many people, thank you. I wish you all the best.
Hi Milos,
Can you say what supplements and or alternative remedies you have already tried because there are quite a few. For some people taking 200 micrograms of selenium per day can lower their bilirubin levels.
I see you are in the Czech Republic, that will make it harder for those in the US to know what supplements are available there.

Hi Art, thanks for your reply,
I focused on the diagnosis of Lyme disease and gradually tried a number of medicines - Buhners herbal protocol (Andrographis, Cats Claw, Japanese Knotweed), turpentine with Neem oil, Oregano essential oil, MMS. Later Antabuse (Disulfiram), medicinal mushrooms (Hericium, Turkey tail, Birch polypore).
I started symptomatic treatment of damaged nerves - B complex, alpha lipoic acid, minerals. There was a slight improvement in the nervous problems. I've been using it for about 2 months.
I recently found mention of a successful Borax treatment and found this website.
I started using Borax about a week ago, I added H2O2.
After such a long time of treatment, I am not sure if it is really LD. Is it not a different diagnosis, or multiple diagnosis at the same time (viral infection, mold, heavy metals...)?
Thank you and best regards

@ Milos (Czech Republic)
People in my area are being diagnosed with Lymes Disease and Alpha-Gal. The treatment I have been recommending with success is as follows:
Colloidal Silver 10ppm – Take 1 oz. CS in 2 oz. clean water 3x daily.
Wildcrafted Oregano Capsules – North American Herb and Spice Co. P73 are the only one I recommend due to the high Carvacrol percentage (83%). 3 – 4 capsules daily. I make my own but since you are in Czech Republic, find what you can there.
Garlic – LOTS OF GARLIC! You are doing to smell like garlic. But that's what you want. 6 cloves per day. I mice 3 cloves and put them on a chicken salad sandwich and eat them that way. I call it a garlic sandwich.
You will do all 3 remedies at the same time for one month (30 days).
Why it works?
Oregano # 1 antibiotic on Earth. Oregano will kill any kind of "germ". Proof of this statement can be found in the Quarterly Review of Biology, March 1998 and the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology, June 1977, among other authoritative publications.

Colloidal Silver - The Natural Antibiotic Colloidal Silver is a near perfect antibiotic. Colloidal silver has been reported to kill 650 micro organisms, many of which are associated with human diseases. This does not automatically mean that taking colloidal silver will "cure" disease caused by these germs. Colloidal silver only kills micro-organisms when they are in contact with it for a sufficient period of time. The human body is a complex system, which may prevent high enough concentrations of colloidal silver from reaching the "affected area". Just about every known germ, bacteria, virus or fungus, will die within six minutes of contact with colloidal silver. In addition, there are no known bad side effects from using colloidal silver.
GLN offers a partial list of the more than 650 diseases that colloidal silver has been reputed to be successful against: acne, AIDS (reference 8), allergies, appendicitis, arthritis, athlete's foot, bladder inflammation, blood parasites, blood poisoning, boils, burns, cancer (References 2,4 7), candida, cholera, colitis, conjunctivitis, coronavirus, cystitis, dermatitis, diabetes (Reference 1), dysentery, eczema, fibrositis, gastritis, gonorrhea, hay fever, herpes, impetigo, indigestion, keratitis, leprosy, leukemia, lupus, lymphangitis, lyme disease, malaria, meningitis, neurasthenia, parasitic infections: viral, fungal and bacterial pneumonia, pleurisy, prostate, pruritus ani, psoriasis, purulent opthalmia, rhinitis, rheumatism, ringworm, scarlet fever, septic conditions of the eyes, ears, mouth and throat, seborrhea, septicemia, shingles, skin cancer, staphylococcus and streptococcus infections, stomach flu, syphilis, thyroid, tuberculosis, tonsillitis, toxemia, trachoma, all forms of virus, warts, whooping cough, yeast infection, stomach ulcer, canine paravirus and other veterinary uses, and fungal and viral attacks on plants. Simply spray diluted silver on the leaves and add to the soil.
Hi Milos,
Yes, that is very helpful information and what I was looking for. So you have already tried quite a few known remedies for Lyme disease (LD), but once LD gets a foothold, the involved bacteria can start to develop biofilms which help protect them from your immune system as well as antibiotics. It sounds like you have had LD for at least two years or more and it was probably developing in your system with no apparent symptoms prior to that. This would allow time for multiple bacteria types involved in LD to generate biofilms for protection.
To give you more information on the very significant importance biofilms play in LD, I am including the following link to better illustrate that fact :
Here is a relevant quote from the link :
' It has been observed that the antibiotic resistance and the reoccurrence of Lyme disease are associated with biofilm-like aggregates in B. burgdorferi, B. afzelii, and B. garinii, both in vitro and in vivo, allowing Borrelia spp. to resist to adverse environmental conditions. Indeed, the increased tolerance to antibiotics described in the persisting forms of Borrelia spp., is strongly reminiscent of biofilm growing bacteria, suggesting a possible role of biofilm aggregates in the development of the different manifestations of Lyme disease including LNB. '
You mentioned that you were wondering if you really have LD, but your doctors had to have diagnosed LD in order to prescribe the antibiotics which they did. So I'm going to continue with that line of thinking and take into consideration that you poor response to the antibiotics is based on the fact that the involved bacteria have developed biofilms.
Based on the above I want to say to you that Methylene Blue (MB) is a very potent antimicrobial which means it is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal, an established potent antioxidant as well as an established biofilm buster. Here in the US, you can get 50 mg capsules of MB at compounding pharmacies where they make it up for you. You can get other dosing levels also, but 50 mg is generally considered a relatively safe starting point.
Secondly, because I do believe the bacteria have developed significant biofilms based on the length of time you have had the disease, I would also like to mention the possible use of N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). NAC is mainly known as a potent antioxidant, but it also is a potent biofilm buster as is MB and the two together are likely to have synergy at breaking down the biofilms. When NAC is given alongside the antibiotic regimens, it helps breakdown the biofilms to their deepest layers, allowing the antibiotics to work more effectively against LD, but doctors in general tend to focus on the known prescription medications and much less on the over the counter supplements such as MB and NAC. NAC can be taken at a dose of 1200 to 1800 mg/day. Above 1800 mg/day, many people can experience gastrointestinal upset. NAC also has anti inflammatory effects via boosting of glutathione levels which can help with LD related inflammation. NAC is a very common antioxidant here in the US.
Since you are in the Czech Republic I don't know the availability of these two supplements, but a good compounding pharmacy should be able to hook you up.
Something you need to be aware of is that the biofilm busting actions of MB and NAC combined with MBs potent antimicrobial activity can result in rapid die off of various pathogens in your system and your body can only clear up this dead debris in your system so fast. If the die off is too fast and your bodies disposal system can not keep up, the dead debris is essentially toxic and as such can create flu like symptoms such as low grade fever, joint pain, general body pain, headaches, etc.
This phenomenon is called a "Herxheimer reaction" or Herxing and should be watched for. If it occurs, then you have to stop the MB and NAC until the flu like symptoms go away and then resume the MB and NAC.
If you notice benefit from MB and NAC, then that means that the biofilms are being broken down and the pathogens killed and indicates that antibiotics should now be more effective because now the bodies immune system can start to reach the pathogens and the antibiotics should also.
In my opinion, you made a good choice to look for relevant alternative remedy sites such as Earth Clinic, which is the best I have been able to find in all my time spent on the web! I think at this point in your LD experience, these two supplements are needed in order to bust the biofilms, keep your glutathione levels higher and start to kill the involved pathogens of which there are likely many.
Nothing seems to be 100% when it comes to LD, but these two can potentially get the ball rolling in a better direction and then the antibiotics can be considered again as well as other methods if needed such as the essential oil regimen for LD and other known potent remedies.
Keep us posted on how you progress!
