Male Cat with Cystitis and Crystals
My flame point siamese mix cat started urinating in the bathrub recently, and I took him to the vet where he was given an antibiotic shot. 3 weeks later, she still wasn't better, so I took him back. They kept him overnight to get a urine sample and I was told this morning he has crystals in his urine. They sent him home with another antibiotic and Prescription Diet c/d dry food. I want to switch him to wet but it's crazy expensive ($1.25/can x 4.5 cans a day for his weight). I'm reading about ACV and it's benefits. I am concerned about giving him the ACV because I don't know what type of crystals he has in his urine. I'm reading that one type is caused by too alkaline urine and the other is too acidic. Can someone clarify this and give suggestions? Thank you in advance.
