Male Gynecomastia: I have not seen treatments discussed beyond the surgical realm. Is surgery the only option for pubertal male gynecomastia?

Article related to Gynecomastia and Soy. In this particular case, and in many more, Soy was the obvious cause of Gynecomastia and Increased Estrogen levels in males.

For treatment of gynecomastia, enlarged male breasts, has anybody tried oral supplementation with di-indole methane (DIM), which is said to promote healthy estrogen metabolism? It is a phytonutrient b362 and extracted from cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and kale.

Just in case you don't know, all cruciferous veggies (cabbage, kale, etc) are thyroid antagonists, so too many unfermented crucifers in your diet will simply make the problem worse. Soy also has a very high phyto-estrogen content, and is a thyroid inhibitor, which could contribute to the problem if you eat soy. Male breast tissue is stimulated by the presense of estrogen, just like female breast tissue is, so it seems like the best thing to do is eliminate the xeno and phyto estrogens from your diet and/or life-style. You might also want to consider taking up weight-lifting, because weight-lifting is one of the best...maybe THE BEST...way to stimulate testosterone production, which is what you need to combat a high-estrogen state, which causes breast enlargement.

For males with breast enlargement:

There are several drugs (prescription medication) that cause enlargement of men's breast. To find out if you are on one or more of them, type the name of the medication in search window and look for unwanted or adverse side effects.

Does Ted have any theories/remedies for male gynecomastia? Is surgery the only option?
