Large Fatty Tumor Natural Remedies

Posted by Steve (Dallas, Tx) on 11/18/2016

I have a Lab/Shepherd mix named Molly. Over the course of about a year now she's had this tumor growing under her left lower rib cage upper stomach area. We took her to the vet and she said it would be $1000 to remove it. It is the size of a softball and has only recently gotten that big that's why we took her in. Before it was just a golf ball size which we've had labs before with them and it was just something that is popular with that breed. I'm wondering if there was s natural homeopathic approach to dealing with this tumor instead. I've read a few articles about it not being s good idea to do surgery, however, the tumor is leaking and it's very unsightly.
Any and all feedback welcomed.

Hi Steve,

My beautiful golden, age 10, has a large, fast growing fatty cyst in exactly same place as Molly. It was the size of an egg when I started her on turmeric, now it's about the size of a golf ball. I have arrested the tumor's growth slowly by giving her 1 turmeric curcumin capsule in a Pill Pockets every morning with her breakfast. She is 75 pounds. I like the brand I found on Amazon (for people) after extensive reading.. It's Divine Bounty and contains bioperine. 750 mg per capsule. I ran out of this particular brand a month ago and bought simple Now brand turmeric capsules at the local health food store, but went back to the other company after I discovered the Now turmeric capsule gave me a stomach ache every time I took it. I figured it might be doing the same to my dog too! I also take turmeric every day and love it.

Do watch out for side effects whatever you try.. it's so hard to tell when a dog isn't feeling well!

I suggest you measure the tumor before you start and keep track of it on a weekly basis so you can see if it's staying the same, growing or shrinking. Give it a few weeks to see results. My dog is currently on week 6 of daily turmeric. I give her a day off from the turmeric every few days. If she has any stomach issues, I stop it for a few days.

Others on Earth Clinic use Essiac Tea for tumors, but I haven't tried that yet.

Please let us know how it goes! Best to you and Molly.

My 9 year old Doberman started getting lipomas a couple of years ago and now he has several of them and he keeps getting more. I've been reading everything I can find about them. I have only given him to minimum vaccinations and stopped vaccinating him when he was 4 years old, I use almost no chemicals in the house and yard, give him bottled water, do everything I can so he will have the longest happiest life possible. We live in the country and he gets plenty of exercise and he is not overweight at all.

After doing research I started adding turmeric to his food. I read that their body may have trouble absorbing the turmeric and that Lecithin can help so I'm adding a small amount of that with the turmeric. I read that lipomas are caused by toxins but I have no idea where toxins could be coming from and then I just read that the toxins could be caused by a liver problem. He has had full bloodwork done since he started getting lipomas and it didn't show a liver problem.

He has never done well if I switch his foods around, he starts vomiting and it takes a couple days before his stomach gets straightened out again. Chicken seems to be the only meat he tolerates and even with chicken he will eat it for a few days and then stop eating completely for a day or two.

I'm desperate to find a way to stop the lipoma from developing and shrinking them would be wonderful. I'm starting to think it could be tied to his stomach issues. Even when I cook his food he will stop eating at times.

I don't know exactly what diet to feed him. Last night I boiled chicken and sweet potatoes for his dinner, I needed to get to the store and that's all I had and he loved it, but today he would not eat at all. What type of diet can I feed him to help his stomach to heal and more importantly stop his body from making more lipomas? I will do whatever it takes. The only supplement I give him is Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. I tried a probiotic I found on Amazon but it made him throw up and I recently put 2 capsules of yucca over his food and that made him sick too.

I'm going to start the castor oil that I just read about on your site.

Thank you in advance.

I have cooked at times but I'd get discouraged trying to figure out what to make that he may like and how much to feed him, he's 95 pounds, so I'm been feeding him a high-quality kibble with boiled chicken. At times he will eat some yogurt or pumpkin.

Hello Maryh,

IBS can happen in any breed, but it does seem dobies get more than their fair share of cases. I would continue to try probiotics to find one he does not have a problem digesting, along with Yucca Intensive liquid - not powder. Additional digestive enzymes Bromelain and also amino acid L-Glutamine may also prove helpful. Check out Doberman message boards online for others who have dealt with IBS in their dobes, they can help you with portion sizes and also read up for ideas on diet:

Hi Maryh,

I am sorry to hear about your issues with your Doberman. We are a dog supplement company, and canine nutritionalists. I'm not replying to your post to promote our products but some of the ingredients we use like chia seeds have anti carcinogenic properties, so you may want to consider them. We have just started experimenting with Turmeric golden paste and we see the benefits of turmeric massively. Our 5 dogs are really responding to the golden paste. A quick search online will throw up plenty of recipes for you to have a go. Anyway, good luck and please let me know how you get on. Dev McManus, Winston and Porter

I have an eighteen yr.old cat who has been pretty healthy. She has been licking a sore on her chest and I took her to the Vet and they said they could move it but decided to give her clavamox and predinisone It didn't do a thing and it has an odor and not healing. She licks it all the time so I can't even put an Elizabethan collar on her as it would be placed right on the growth. It is the size of a pingpong ball. After rading all the posts I was wondering if anyone has used castor oil along with the spice Tumeric? I have both and I want her to be comfortable Any advice?

Thanks!
