Does anyone have any treatments for varicose eczema on the lower legs? Thanks in advance.

Dear Leanne,

How is your health otherwise?

Castor oil or coconut oil (or a combination) might help, gently massaged into the legs.

Borage Oil 1300 mg supplements worked well for my eczema. I would take 3 per day when it was really bad.

Epsom salt baths, or a bath with a cup of apple cider vinegar may be be helpful.

Hi mama to many,

Thanks for your suggestion. I am asking on behalf of a relative. He is 62 and health is not so good. has high blood pressure and other issues. He had a blood clot in his legs and now the valves in his legs don't work properly so has bad circulation in his legs which I think is now giving him the eczema. maybe something for circulation?

Dear Leanne,

Cayenne pepper powder can help with circulation. It can also lower blood pressure. It is also supposed to help with blood clots. It may be contraindicated though if your relative is on blood thinners. I like to take 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper in a glass of grape or carrot juice. Cayenne pepper capsules are available.

Foot baths with a teaspoon or two of ginger can help with circulation.

Bone broth or a collagen supplement and vitamin C can help with skin repair and overall health.

Castor oil topically may still be helpful as I think it does help with circulation.

I hope you find something to help your relative!
