Possible Covid Diarrhea - Need Help, Remedies Not Helping

Posted by GertJr (Madison) on 03/12/2023

6 days ago, I was fine in the morning, then had sudden diarrhea and cramping. Felt horrible all day, developed a fever that night. Next day, fine until around 4 pm, day after felt fine but only for a few hours before it hit again. Since then, no fever but watery diarrhea--feeling fine other than the sudden leakage with no warning. And, TMI I know, one day it was green, since then yellow and bubbly (gas?). Mostly water, as I can't eat so only taking bone broth. So, now, my question is what to do? I wonder if it's not covid diarrhea, from my research, in which case I did everything except have the test that they say to do--avoid people, stay home, etc, just didn't get the test. At this point the test would be moot, since it's been a week (day 7 today). Any thoughts on what to do? I have been taking colloidal silver, Lysine, Vit C along with my usual zinc, D3 and multivitamin. My poor bottom is so sore and now I'm getting hemis. I have a bidet, which helps a lot. What should I do next? I need some solid food, so am cooking chicken and rice but really don't want to miss more work. Any ideas?

GertJr, what we use here is Vichy water (mineral water with gas, quite alkaline), and/or Chamomile tea.

Apple cider vinegar. Black tea. Ivermectin. It worked for me.

Ok, my diarrhea is still pretty bad and now my doc says she wants me to get samples to test for c.diff. Apparently, when I said the smell was very odd this made her think c diff. So, until I get the test results (I don't even have the order for it yet), what do I do? I have oil of oregano, colloidal silver, CDS and a few other things I can't think of right now. I think I'll take the oregano now and start the andreas Kalcker protocol for amateurs at bedtime (per his advice). I'm at a loss what to do. ACV did nothing, I have eaten only cooked chicken and rice for almost 2 weeks now -- what can I eat? I was doing so well off of carbs, but I think crackers will be my go to. Any advice?

Can you write more details. Why do you think it's Covid diarrhoea? How is it started? What other symptoms do you have? What medication were you taking? Your age?

I'd go with activated charcoal. As for food poisoning.

Obviously, you want to hydrate. The best way I've found is to drink a cup of water every waking hour, with a little pinch of salt or sugar under the tongue. I use pink salt.

I thought it was covid diarrhea because I had been at a birthday party and the next day one of the guests tested positive. After 2 weeks, I called my gastro dr and she called in Welchol for me and ordered a fecal test--as soon as I mentioned that my stool was yellow and had a very strange, almost metalic smell, she right away said c diff. I am 65, female and the only drug I'm on is viberzi for my ibsd. I tend to eat low carb, 2/3 plant 1/3 animal, don't drink alcohol or do any illegal drugs. The party was Friday night, Monday I had a slight fever and pretty strong cramping but no diarrhea until late in the day. The cramps lasted most of that week and are pretty much gone, but the diarrhea is sudden, mostly liquid, yellow and frothy. Sorry, tmi but may help you help me. I did take imodium this week so I could go to work. I have ibsd that, at times, I have to manage that way. I would not have gone to work if I thought I was endangering my coworkers, but I have my own office and we don't stand close to talk.

I don't have any and, really, couldn't go out and get any as much as I'm running to the toilet. I did take oil of oregano, holding it under my tongue for a good while (a dropper full) and just took a teaspoon of bentonite clay, so should be close enough since I don't have charcoal.

Hi GertJr,

Wow, I'm so sorry. You deal with this chronically and now have the added layer of an acute issue.

All that you are doing sounds good. I am sure that chicken and rice is getting to be a wearisome diet. (I eat both of those a lot myself.)

Does turmeric agree with you? It is a strong anti-infective and is great for diarrhea for most people.

My first thought was Dandelion tea. Many years ago a friend got Hepatitis A from eating in the cafeteria at his work. It gave him pale stools and he was quite sick. He took dandelion tea and healed it. I have no idea the amounts or for how long, it's been a while ago!

Anyway, your symptoms don't quite seem like Hepatitis A, but problems with the stool can be caused by a liver issue, and Dandelion is a great help to that.

Please keep us posted; I hope you feel better soon.

Love,

Thanks, Mama. I take curamed, a turmeric supplement every day, 750 mg, so didn't even think of it. Really, I will be very surprised if it's really c.diff because I take and eat so many things that should stop it in its tracks--garlic, onion, oregano, etc. When it first started, I started taking 1 oz colloidal silver every several hours and oil of oregano, held under the tongue for several minutes along with the silver. So, I'm actually surprised to even have an ibs flare. But, color and odor do present like c.diff, so who knows. I wonder where I picked it up, as my home is clean and it's only me. The gym? Maybe, even though I bring my own towels, but you really never know. So, I need to deal with it. Thanks for your advice. BTW, kids pull-ups with the sides trimmed out work out much cheaper than adult diapers.
