Nothing Has Cured My Eczema So Far

Posted by Sam (India) on 07/17/2015

My skin was awesome until I was in high school. I had crazy amount of fun in the sun/rain/winters, ate anything and everything that I wanted and then this happened. Eczema- a disease from hell. The people with this condition know how it is..it's horrible.

This disease has seriously taken a toll on my life- emotionally and professionally. I am irritated for no reason at all, I want to work but I can't since I feel so week and itchy all the time.

I have tried everything, right from Ayurvedic treatment, Yunnani medicines, Homeopathy and Allopathic and nothing seems to be working unless I take steroids in Allopathy. I have tried Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar, which turned out to be even worse for me. I diluted it in 50:50 water and ACV and it burned up by skin. Really weird white rash began to occur and the itch was the worse. I have tried taking Olive Oil -Extra Virgin and it seems to have no effect. I have even used Extra Virgin Coconut oil- it has no effect. I have failed to understand what could possibly go wrong.

The only thing that eased me when I had a massive flare up was a mixture of curd +turmeric +extra virgin coconut oil, no particular proportions. I applied it topically and it reduced the burning. I had cuts on my hands, but when I took some anti fungal medicine- it helped me get rid off them (at least I can wash my hands without grieving in pain). Yoga has helped a bit, I guess.

It seems like I am stuck with this now, I am currently taking anti allergic medicines like which keep me sleepy.

All suggestions are welcome.

Skin disorders are external manifestations of internal imbalances. Until you find the cause and treat it, all your attempts would be futile. It would be like applying a band-aid.

My first guess is that you have leaky gut and gluten intolerance.

Until your entire body chemistry changes (different diet, etc.) you wan't be able to get rid of eczema for good. I recommend you find a reputable TCM doctor. You would be amazed what Chinese herbs and acupuncture could do.

Hi Sam, the corticosteroids are the problem. Using them and then stopping using them. I'm still going through a long healing process from having used them. Please go to itsan.org, the international topical steroid awareness network. The site has a forum and you will find people all over the planet going through this. There are also lots of people with blogs about what they are going through from having used corticosteroids. Good luck!

Dear Sam,

I tried many things for eczema. After many months of trying external remedies, I tried Borage Oil, 3 x 1200 mg gel caps a day. Completely worked for me.

If you used to be able to "eat anything you wanted" it is possible that your past diet is catching up with you. It may be helpful to consume more fruits and vegetables and avoid processed foods and fast food and limit sugar. Drinking plenty of water or herbal tea is helpful.

1 cup of Epsom Salt in a warm bath several times a week is a pleasant and gentle way to detox. This will also help supply your body with magnesium. In fact, a magnesium supplement daily may be helpful to you for that irritable feeling.

Have you tried Quercetin and NeuroproteK? Excellent anti allergy supplements.

I assume you are 100% gluten, lactose/casein free. Have testing done at Cyrex labs, #10 Multiple Food Immune Reactivity Screen, #3Wheat/Gluten Proteome Reactivity & Autoimmunity; and #2 Intestinal Antigenic Permeability Screen.

My dad had eczema for 35 years. Then he had treatment at The resort complex " Annensky mineral waters " (balneotherapy)in Russia. He was hospitalized there, for his healing reaction was severe, but he came back eczema free. You can research mineral waters resorts (balneotherapy) that treat eczema. You might need to travel to Europe for that, as it is unknown in the U.S. (but google).

Hi Sam. I suffer from the same problem (I was weeping eczema in ears and face and eyelids) as you and have spent 22+ years of my life trying to beat it. Been to many clinics and doctors who have only given me antibiotics and creams that made things worse. I can give you some pointers from what I learned in my own experiences. It took me many years to learn that a big trigger for me was citrus fruits. You read a lot of cleansing stuff about how lemon can cleanse your skin... and its hard to imagine that oranges can be bad for you, but all that stuff was seriously messing me up. Also, yogurt was making matters worse. Removing these things didn't make me better, but it lessened how bad my weeping outbreaks were. I then spent a year cutting out dairy, all white grains, pork and for a time I cut out gluten. None of that really mattered. One thing that helped me a $10 Japanese bar of soap called Kampuku that you can find right on Amazon (I buy it at a local store). They market this as a pro-biotic soap. That sounds like B.S. to me, but this soap really does help my skin a lot. You can read some of the reviews of it on Amazon and draw your own conclusions. Also, there is a very expensive medication that hit the market just last year called Soolantra. I've tried everything natural, but this new cream has helped me a lot and a lot of people with oozing eczema of the face have seen great results. To read some personal stories google search oozing yellow crusts as there are a bunch of us who have sort of collected together on there to find cures for our nasty eczema problems. Anyway, I hope you find some of this info useful. I'm pretty sure eczema is a genetic disorder and we all have to band together to find out how to live with it and cope. Good luck to you.
