Oozing Cyst on Dog
I have a little dog who has two sebaceous cysts. One on his shoulder and the other on his back. The one on his shoulder burst a couple of weeks ago and I took him to the vet, who squeezed out the contents and gave him antibiotics. The vet wants to remove it but I don't want him to have anaesthetic if I can avoid it, so I've got some Organic, cold pressed coconut oil and have been giving him that for three days. I am also cleaning the area several times a day and squeezing out any 'gunk' that is there. I have noticed that since feeding him the coconut oil more stuff is coming out of the cyst. Last night it had scabbed over a little, but looked slightly raised, he was sleeping next to me and I gently rubbed over it to see what was happening, the top came off and stuff started oozing out, so I cleaned it and gave it a gentle squeeze. Anyway, my question is, is it normal for it to be oozing more now he's on the coconut oil and should I continue to squeeze it out or just leave it alone? He is being such a little star, but I don't want to keep doing it if it is better to leave it alone. Also, can I mix the turmeric with the coconut and apply it to the cyst, even though this 'stuff' seems to be coming out every day? So sorry to write such a lengthy question and thank you for reading.
