Heavy Menstruation Causing Shooting Pain All Over Body - Please Help

Posted by Razia (UK) on 06/13/2022

Hello.

For the past 4-5 years, my period pains have been getting worse. They are very heavy in the beginning (clots), the pain has become more intense and the pain also affects me in more places instead of just the tummy area. I get alot of pain radiating down my legs and more recently to my feet. I struggle to walk or stand when this happens. I get pain near my shoulders, down my arms and in my hands too.

I've been to the doctors. They've said this can happen and not to worry. However I am worried as it's getting more difficult and I feel I'm not able to manage the pain.

Are there any natural remedies I can use to manage my pain?
Also, any idea as to what sounds like could be the problem?

Look forward to hearing back

Regards.

Dear Razia,

This sounds miserable! I am sorry to hear it.

What is your age? Are you a healthy weight?

My first two thoughts are red raspberry leaf tea and nettle leaf. Try both of them all month long.

The red raspberry leaf you can get in tea bags. Steep 2 in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes. (Don't boil. Just pour almost boiling water over the bags and let sit with no additional heat.) Drink daily.

Take nettle leaf capsules - 2 capsules twice a day.

There are other things to try but this is and easy and inexpensive way thing to try first.

Thank you for replying. I'm 31. 5ft6 and 9 stones. Mother to two healthy boys. The problem started after having my youngest.

Thank you for your advice. I will be sure to try it.

Any other advice and tips would be most appreciated

Kind regards.

Something I wish I'd known about when I was younger and having issues is urine therapy. There is a lot of information online about it but not much here. It's what I would use for any undefined issue. You don't have to name an issue to fix it.

Dear Razia,

Okay the additional information is helpful. You are young; this is not related to menopause. You are a healthy weight; that makes it less likely to be an estrogen dominance issue.

The suggestion to take blackstrap molasses by M from Md is a good one. It provides minerals that help to balance the system.

Did you happen to have an ultrasound done? That would rule out ovarian cysts or fibroids. And have you had bloodwork done? If you are anemic that will make all of this worse, too.

When you are having pain, you can make a large charcoal poultice and place it over your abdomen. This removes toxins and reduces pain. Here is how to make one. One time I had a cyst on a fallopian tube that twisted causing pain that left me doubled over in pain and almost sent me to the ER. (In hindsight I should have gone.) Days later I found out about the twisted cyst and tube, which required surgery. The point is, charcoal poultices can be powerful pain relievers. (I had even had the pain radiating down my leg.)

If you keep on hand some liquid chlorophyll you can use it during times of heavy bleeding. I used to take a Tablespoon every hour or two when I had heavy bleeding and it would calm it down.

You can also use castor oil packs (not during your period.) When you don't know what the root problem is, this is a good thing to try because it is a broad spectrum healer. Castor oil packs can be used overnight several nights a week. I sleep better when I use them! Here is how to make one.

A good supplement/vitamin to try would be Optivite PMT. This has helped me to even out cycle issues in the past.

A last resort would be natural progestrone cream. I have used this also to even out serious cycle issues. But, again, that is a last resort. I don't know how natural this really is and messing with hormones this way can be serious.

Now you see why I suggested the red raspberry leaf and nettle leaf first. They are the easiest and least expensive solutions. :)

Anyway, I am hopeful that one or a combination of these remedies will help you out!

Please let me know how it goes.
