Blood Clot Prevention Support Prior to Surgery?

Posted by Lynn (North Carolina) on 01/26/2022

I am going to have surgery on my ankle to remove hardware and repair a torn tendon. In the past, after I broke my ankle and had surgery, I developed blood clots in my leg and had to go on a blood thinner. I am wanting to avoid medications and would prefer a more natural preventative approach. I appreciate any suggestions.

Lynn, garlic is a blood thinner, but don't take a lot (or any?) before surgery.

Thanks. I am not sure what to do after surgery to help prevent blood clots.

Dear Lynn,

One important thing will be to keep the blood moving as much as possible. Obviously with ankle surgery you won't be walking around...will they put those things on your legs to keep the blood moving? I have had such in the past.

Cayenne pepper helps with blood flow and is supposed to help with clots. Can you take a shaker of it with you to put on meals after surgery? And please stay very hydrated. It will help to naturally thin the blood.

What about making sure to do some bed exercises on the good leg? And massage on the other leg?

And purpose to be very cooperative with PT. They will likely push you more than you want but it will help, I believe.

I hope it goes well.

I would suggest to be grounding or earthing yourself after surgery for faster healing. Some success stories at earthinginstitute.net

It also will thin the blood and keep it flowing.

Bilberry naturally causes the blood to become 'slippery' - as does aspirin. It causes the blood to become less sticky, so the blood flows more freely.
See https://draxe.com/nutrition/bilberry and other sites for more info.

Look into niacin (B3, nicotinamide) supplementation, NOT non-flush types, time release, niacinamide, etc. to prevent and clear blood clots from the blood vessels.

Ingest one hour after a main meal, twice daily - start low but work up to high doses (2-3000 mg) for as long as needed. Co-factors include: L-Serine (min. 3000 mg together with niacin), Methyl B-Complex, grass-fed beef liver, magnesium gluconate.

What about serrapeptase or nattokinase for thinning blood?

I take Systemic Enzymes and Vitamin K2 to keep my blood from clotting as I have Atrial Fibrillation which predisposes you to clotting and electromagnetic frequencies from wireless devices like mobile phones thickens and clots my blood (well it does this to everyone but some are more susceptible to red blood cells rouleaux forming clots).

My father in law had a hip operation and they caused a permanent clot in his leg which caused him a lot of pain as blood flow was so restricted to his foot. They gave him a medication for 2 months to open a small space for blood flow to flow through but told him the clot was permanent. I had heard about Molasses, 1 tbsp a day clearing clots, so he took this and went through 4 bottles and the clot completely dissolved.

I've been using nattokinase for clots for over 20 years, just take 1 before bed. This was suggested by a holistic doc.

Please have a look into Serrapeptase. We take it for years as prophylaxes. It is a natural blood thinner and basically cleans up foreign materials in the body, like the stuff created by inflammation which is the cause of the pain. Anyway, there is a lot of benefits without side effects.

Natural, because it is the enzyme of the Japanese silk worm which is used by it to open the cocoon.

cheers

My elderly Mom had a blood clot on her gnarly wrist, so she took 8 capsules of Doctor's Best 2,000 FUs of nattokinase for I think several days and the wrist clot dissolved and her wrist became thin and normal looking, no longer gnarly.

I also like the tablespoon of 4 bottles of molasses recommended for clots on this page. Perhaps it is the 12,16 or 32 oz bottle of molasses, and assuming it is not blackstrap molasses.

I really needed a clot dissolver fast in this situation:

In 2016, I could feel that I had blood clots at my left bicep after a blood draw in that arm.

Then I happened to learn that sodium citrate dissolves and thins cheese without any heat, making nacho cheese sauce or mac 'n cheese sauce.

So I ordered a pound of sodium citrate powder from eBay at the time, although I now order it from BulkSupplements.com.

The clots had moved to the left side of my heart by the week of waiting for the shipment.

I dissolved I think a half level measuring teaspoon in say a cup of water and drank it mornings and afternoons. It is salty tasting and has a lot of sodium.

The clots were gone in a few to several days.

For good measure, I continued taking the pound bag until the end of the month and may have halved the dose after 2 weeks, taking it only mornings.

I then discontinued taking sodium citrate until needed. I think I had another clot-like incident in recent years and the clot dissolved in a few days, and so I only took the sodium citrate for a few days this time, not for the rest of the month.
