Prediabetes Help Requested

Hi there friends, I went to my Dr's yesterday and he informed me that since my blood test 6mnths ago to my blood test this week I have become pre-diabetic and he wants to start me on 1/2 pill of metformin which I do not want to take ( I already take enough for depression) does anyone have any suggestions? Thnx
