Recently Diagnosed With Transverse Myelitis
I was recently diagnosed with transverse myelitis and have lost movement in my left leg. My spinal tap showed that I have an infection on my spine. Is there some natural cure I can try to improve my condition?

Suzabelle,
This is a fairly rare inflammation of the spine for which there is little data available for alternative treatments. There was one case report of vitamin B12 deficiency where the patient responded to B12 injections.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11965427/
The cause is unknown, but there seems to be a connection between TM and the following vaccines :
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, acellular Pertussis (“DTaP”) Vaccine
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (“MMR”) Vaccine
- Meningococcal Vaccine
- Hepatitis B (“Hep B”) Vaccine
- Influenza (“Flu”) Vaccine
- Human Papillomavirus (“HPV”) Vaccine
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis (“Tdap”) Vaccine
There are attorneys who seem to specialize in cases that are caused by these vaccines.
I don't want to start a firestorm here, but apparently, there were some cases of TM in the testing of the Covid-19 vaccines as mentioned here:

If there was a recent vaccine for the patient it may be a good idea to show your doctor the above study so all of your information can be documented in a timely manner. The Covid-19 vaccines are so new that all of the potential complications and adverse events are not yet known in their entirety.
If the patient hasn't had any of these vaccines it becomes more difficult to determine a possible cause. Some patients recover and never have a problem again while some have recurrences and possible disabilities. There are some medical treatments apparently available to help prevent permanent damage. These treatments likely try to reduce inflammation in the spine to lessen the chance of neural injury. I would definitely talk to your doctor about any potential treatments to reduce the chance for long term side effects or damage.
I'm sorry I can't offer more help. Please keep us posted on how the patient does and how the doctor treats the TM as this may become a more common issue with continuing vaccinations.
