Need Help for 9 Years of Recurrent Cellulitis

Posted by PamB 69 (Northland) on 05/21/2021

I have had cellulitis on and off, mostly on, for the past almost 9 years. Have succumbed twice to antibiotics but the last time I tried the intravenous antibiotics I finished four doses on the Monday and Friday it was back.

It is on both legs and drives me crazy with the itching at times. Have lost count of how many natural remedies I have made up. We do not have a bath nor do any of our family, so I cannot try the Epsom salt remedy.

I am 80yrs old, we eat organic, no toxic chemicals used in the home ever, so any help VERY gratefully received. I live in New Zealand.

NO, I am not having the Pfizer jab.

I must have read a thousand pages on castor oil over the past couple of days so, if it was me, I'd slap on a castor oil pack which is, for me, linen, folded in half and then in half again - which ends up about the size of a small placemat - saturated with warm castor oil, making sure it isn't dripping, positioned around the abdomen, under the right breast, from just left of center and around to the right. Cover with plastic wrap and, for me, an abdominal wrap they gave me after surgery a couple decades ago.

I'd leave it on all night and, in the morning, take it all off and place the linen in a large ziploc, toss the plastic wrap and take a swig of olive oil. Then, that night, I'd do it again. And I'd do that for 4 nights in a row. Wait 3 days and assess the situation. Then I'd do it again, even if it seems resolved, 4 nights on, followed by morning swigs of olive oil, and 3 days off. Assess again. Once it was all cleared up, I'd pop the ziploc with the castor oil soaked linen in it in the fridge and wait and see if it came back, at which point I'd do it again, except twice as many times. 4 on, 3 off, 4 on, 3 off, 4 on, 3 off and a fourth 4 on, 3 off.

I'd also keep hydrated, drinking a cup of water every 2 waking hours, ferment some veggies in brine and munch on them daily to restore what the antibiotics destroyed as that has seriously messed things up throughout the whole system and avoid hot water bathing.

The water and fermented veggies are just food and water which, at our age, we should probably do everyday. I also rebound on a cellerciser and am currently designing a "bouncy", safety platform/chair for a friend, using 4-wheeler inner-tubes.

Both rebounding and castor oil crank up the white blood cells and move lymph through the lymphatic system but to PUMP the lymphatic system, requires some gravity - I.e. motion. You could also get that activity on a swing or even bobbing in the swells in a small boat, in my opinion, but safe and proper bouncing is a sure thing so the swing chair and wave machine design will have to wait...

But that's just me.

Just to be clear for everyone, I'm talking about cellulitis - the infection. Not cellulITE - the lumpy, bumpy stuff. Though some claim it helps with that as well. Which it probably does, as it is often reported to increase the flow of lymph.

Here are a few ideas that have always worked for most of my clients.

Topically:

Thieves oil and/or Oregano oil diluted and Garlic oil and applied to the skin. Yeah, the garlic smells but it's the strongest antibiotic nature has.

I posted the recipe for making garlic salve here:

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/pneumonia.html#gs

If you add castor oil, it will penatrate deeper into the tissue about 10cm.

Internally:

Burdock Root as a tea or tincture and/or Nutmeg Spice

Since you have had this re-occuring problem for 9 years! You need to cleanse the blood of all pathogens for atleast for 30 days.

A have a friend that suffered from re-occurring boils that would pop-up all over his body for years. He is a picker. He picks at them. I've even seen him take a needle to pop them (bad idea) that's why I suspected the bacteria was in his blood. He spent thousand's of $$ with doctors and got no relief from them. Til one day when we were hanging out with a few friends, he was picking at the newest boil to come up on his knee so I asked him, “do you want to get rid of them”? He replied, there is no cure. Well...believe it or not, there is! I told him he had to do exactly what I said. No matter how stupid it sounded. He agreed to do as I said.

Here is the treatment plan:

Go buy a spice bottle of nutmeg. Put enough powdered spice on the back of your hand “about the size of a US dime coin”. Lick it up with your tongue and swallow. Do this once daily for 30 days. That's it! Sounds too simple.

Note: Burdock root tea can also be used but, nutmeg can be found at most grocery stores.

Now here are the results of what happened to his body over the 30 days:

He noticed that he was not getting new boils at about 15 days thru the treatment and by the end of the 30 days, the old boils had completely healed. I saw him about 6 months after that and asked him about his outbreaks. He said “no new boils”!

Nutmeg stimulates circulation in the body, which can help your body fight the bacterial infection in your boil. This will help to prevent boils from developing. Compounds in nutmeg have strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. Nutmeg is also a detoxifying agent. It cleanses the blood by increasing the effectiveness of all the body's elimination systems. Its diuretic effect helps the kidneys filter impurities from the blood. It helps push toxins out through the skin, and it also boosts the ability of the liver to remove toxins. By pushing toxins out through a variety of pathways, nutmeg can purify the blood with minimal side effects and with minimal stress to the body.

This is incredibly helpful information, Rob. Thank you so very much for posting!

I had some questions:

1. Would it be safe for a nursing mother of a toddler to use the burdock or the nutmeg in the manner you've described?

2. Would nutmeg or burdock be able to clear a chronic condition of Keratosis Pilaris on the body with KPRF on the cheeks?

3. I had experimented with burdock root tea a few years ago after learning about its effectiveness at cleansing the blood and skin. I made a strong infusion of the root (maybe a quarter to a half cup of dried root steeped in a half gallon of water for at least 4 hours.) I may have drank several cups per day. After a few days I developed an itchy rash on my body. I quit the tea and the rash faded. I suspect this may have been a cleansing reaction and I probably overdid it in terms of both the strength and amount of tea. Any ideas in your experience if this is a good sign (cleansing) or a sign to avoid due to an allergy?

Thanks for contributing to the wonderful Earth Clinic community!

To Madelyn (Idaho)

About your questions:

1. Would it be safe for a nursing mother of a toddler to use the burdock or the nutmeg in the manner you've described?

A: Burdock root in large dosages has a Diuretic effect (increasing urine flow) and estrogen-like effects have been reported with oral burdock use in patients with HIV. Although reports of symptoms such as dry mouth and slow heart rate have been noted in people taking burdock products. After reading your question #3, I was shocked at the amounts you were taking! Pregnant women or women trying to become pregnant shouldn't take burdock root or supplements. Nor should nursing mothers in transfering to toddler via milk. Only take burdock supplements in moderation. I only take 40 drops tincture 3-4xdaily to achieve healing internally.

Nutmeg spice is easier to find and is safe, again at low dosages or food amounts.

2. Would nutmeg or burdock be able to clear a chronic condition of Keratosis Pilaris on the body with KPRF on the cheeks?

A: Keratosis pilaris (I ref to it as chicken skin) I've always associated this condition with vitamin A and E deficiency of the Liver. Increase your vitamin A&E intake for 30 – 60 days. Other folk remedies are witch hazel, castol oil and of course vitamin E oil topically.

Burdock root can help with this condition. I pair it with dandelion root.

Any ideas in your experience if this is a good sign (cleansing) or a sign to avoid due to an allergy?

A: You did waaaaay too much!
Tea: 2 to 6 g in 500 ml water three to five times per day. Always start at the low end to see how your body takes it. Everyone biology is different. If your body handles it OK, increase dosage from there. https://www.herballegacy.com/Light_Dosages.html

Be advised that the herx reaction can be...a ride. So, if you've never done a thorough cleanse or have taken a lot of medications, do it at home when you have a couple days and stay close to the bathroom.

The cleansing effect can be profound and include diarrhea and rashes, flu-like achiness and, as it is very healing, it will seem to aggravate other areas as your body puts it to work on them. So, you get a cleansing reaction PLUS sensations and activity in problem areas you may not even know you have. So, you can either slow it down - for instance, by simply applying some castor oil to the abdomen everyday. If that's still too much activity, you can apply it to the soles of your feet. And, while it's there, you might as well give your toes and toenails a little rub, as well as they really like that.

Thanks so much for the recommendations.

I have tried vitamin A in the past and it didn't make a huge difference. I have used both the beta carotene and retinol forms. Perhaps I wasn't consistent enough. Going forward, my plan is to increase vitamins A, E, D, and K for 60 days. Perhaps if I take all of those together, every day, I will see improvement. I also plan to apply cod liver oil and vitamin E oil topically in case there is a problem with absorption in my digestive system. In addition, I will increase water intake and take a dime sized amount of nutmeg daily for 30 days. I also have dandelion root on hand and will make a light tea. Long term goal is to cleanse and heal my liver and digestion. After 60 days I will report back.

Hi Rob, I also forgot to mention, I have wondered if food allergies play a role in causing KP/ KPRF. I may get tested if the other approach doesn't fully clear it up.
