Need Help for Feet Paresthesia

Posted by J. (Bozeman, Montana) on 11/23/2016

Hi,

I'm a 65-year-old male, nonsmoker, with about 50% non-diabetic paresthesia of both feet, hypertensive legs and weakness for the last eight years or so. Thankfully, I've never had any pain whatsoever.

Neurologists have run nerve conductivity tests, three MRIs (skull and back), numerous blood tests including heavy metals, etc. but nothing (not MS or anything else) showed up. The only test I haven't done is the lumbar puncture because I've heard horror stories about possible consequences-- and it seems useless anyway after all these tests. Baclofen did nothing. They now call it idiopathic peripheral neuropathy.

This condition came on very gradually over several years; there was no traumatic injury. I now use a cane and have an ataxic gait. My overall health, heart, and weight are fine.

I have tried various remedies such as Alpha lipoic acid, evening primrose oil, magnesium capsules/sprays and Epsom foot baths, B complex, CoQ10, ALC, physical therapy, and hemp oil rubbed directly on the feet. I follow an organic vegetarian diet with a little organic chicken now and then.

I am planning on starting B12 lozenges soon. I've heard iodine might be useful as well as Vit. E.

Can anyone suggest anything? I'd love to be able to walk, jog, bike again.

Thanks.

J.

I have paresthesia all over my body constantly and palma christi castor oil helps alot. I rub it on the bottom of my feet then put on socks. I've seen a neurologist and had all kinds of test done and they have all come back normal. He wanted to put me on medication for the pain, I declined. Ive tried super b-complex and b12 which works as well.
