Seeking Remedies and Advice for Pain, Tingling and Burning in Legs

Posted by Grace (U.K.) on 05/22/2016

Just over 3 yrs ago after a day walking a total of 7.5 miles (normal for me) and a long time spent kneeling gardening etc my life changed . It started with a feeling of fullness behind my knees, this over the next few weeks changed to pain in my legs when walking or standing for any length of time and then to burning and some tingling (at its worst in bed).

I have seen a leg consultant and a back consultant. I have slight arthritis on the outside of my knees (only 1 hurts) and a split in the cartilage behind 1 knee, I have normal disc changes and a slightly bulging disc in my sacral area, nothing on either MRI scans to account for my symptoms, consultants have no idea what is causing the pain and burning.

I love walking and still do a 4 mile walk most days but it does make my pain worse ( if I am lazy for a few days the pain goes but not the night time burning). Otherwise I am very healthy, slim, and have always been active and am not on any medications but this is ruining my life, I have to plan my day so that I am not on my feet too long but that means I sit more, which makes my back hurt. Does anyone have any ideas how I can cure this problem?

I am a female aged 65.

Hi Grace,

I will suggest you obtain a potassium supplement and perhaps also a B-complex for the leg pain. As for your mentioned arthritic pain, so many find relief with MSM, taking one 1000MG in the morning and evening.

Grace,

Love that name.

Grace you did not mention your diet. Nevertheless, to add to your other suggestions if you are a caffeine drinker give it a break. Your legs, will thank you with less or no numbness and pain if you stop the caffeine.

Mine say thank you whenever I leave out the caffeine, that's how I know. Cut down on, or out processed foods, salt, flour and sugar and you may find that your legs and feet are not swelling.

Like a few of my friends, I cut them out a few months and then start back again. that's how I know what's causing the burning.

So check your diet out, and keep walking.

Maybe this is similar to your tingling. I had early onset and intermittent numbness and tingling in my toes in 2011. I was taking 2 tablespoons of macadamia oil after meals just to try it. In 2 months and two 16 oz bottles later, my fungal toenail dropped off and grew back healthy and pink over the next year as I continued to take macadamia oil at 1 or 2 tablespoons per day. I still take 1 tablespoon mornings and it takes the sting out of my candida pain. The thing is, in the same 2 months, the numbness and tingling in my toes disappeared. So it must have been the macadamia oil which contains the antimicrobial palmitoleic acid at 18% which I think is also antifungal.

Did you ever notice any bone on bone rubbing in your knees? There is chicken sternal/sternum collagen type 2. I take 1 capsule mornings. I had bone on bone rubbing in my knees and the sternal collagen healed it.

There is also Calcium Hydroxyapatite Caps which helped my knees with pain. It's a low temperature processed calf bone concentrate. It naturally has type 1 collagen.

You could start with the chicken collagen and see what happens after a few months or weeks, then add or try the hydroxyapatite caps for a few weeks or months, but you might want to take both supplements permanently like I do.

I once healed my knee that I had injured by taking 1 or 2 packets per day of Knox unflavored gelatin, but that was 35 years ago. It took 3 months.

I used to have pain and burning in my legs. They would feel tired and achy a lot. I don't have that any more since I started taking a good multi-vitamin and multi-mineral supplement. I added copper chelate 2-3mg/day and I think that did the trick. I also added 400mg natural vitamin E supplement daily. Now I have none of those symptoms. But I do make sure that all other minerals are included in the supplement to balance out the extra copper. Copper strengthens blood vessels. I would also recommend a tablespoon or 2 per day of Blackstrap Molasses (organic, unsulphered) for extra minerals and B vitamins. Most multi's don't contain enough calcium or magnesium for daily needs. So look for a good one like Jarrow's "Bone Up." Magnesium chloride added to a bath or foot soak is excellent for boosting magnesium levels in the body. Right before bed take a small spoon of baking soda mixed in water to make sure you're alkaline.

An update on my condition, I have seen no improvement and am waiting to have an injection in my spine as the specialist thinks it could be chemicals leaking from the bulging disc, irritating nerves. I tried turmeric, vit b-complex and lineolic acid caps, ginger and am also going to try the other remedies suggested.

I had the same symptoms and was diagnosed with Lumbar spinal stenosis. I"m looking into getting the MILD procedure for spinal stenosis. It is a non invasive method to correct it. No stitches or down time.
