How Can I Reduce High Ferritin Levels?

Posted by Janen99 (Riverside Ca) on 09/12/2016

I'm new to this site and OT quite sure how it works yet, but I recently had blood work done and my Ferritin level was 484 and the normal range is 10-232. My dr is referring me to a GI Dr. Does anyone have any ideas to reduce the iron in my blood. My liver enzymes were elevated to, about 52 for the 2 kinds. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank u, Jane

Donate blood as often as possible. Once a week would be good. This is how my husband's doctors treated this condition. Look up hemochromatosis.

Cabbage is a natural chelator of iron. About a cup a day will keep the iron away!
