Hi Nikki, I would be spraying colloidal silver on the staph infection several times a day. If it's in a small area saturate a sterile gauze in cs an attach it to the area, keeping it soaked with cs. Good luck!
Hi Nikki,
It may be useful to rotate colloidal silver and boric acid solution each day for optimal effect at eradicating a staph infection on your dog's skin.
The boric acid solution (BAS) that I have found useful is one level full teaspoon of boric acid powder for every four ounces of distilled water. This can be put in a spray bottle for application, as can colloidal silver. Dogs can tolerate these at these dosing levels assuming you are using 20 ppm colloidal silver. Both are effective against staph infections of the skin and rotating them helps prevent bacterial resistance to either one.
The following link explains the effectiveness of BAS for this purpose :
Here is a relevant quote from the link :
' Compared with 16 years ago, the antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus has not changed at all, and there have been no differences in the MICs between methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA). This shows that MRSA might have difficulty in acquiring resistance to boric acid. The effect on MRSA suggests that this formerly used reagent might be able to be used to treat infection with MRSA. This study suggests that the antibacterial effect of boric acid should be reevaluated, and that use at appropriate dosages may be beneficial in treating bacterial skin infections. '
