Scars on the Leg After Boils

Posted by Sandy (Usa) on 04/25/2026

My niece had lot of boils on her legs and after scratching them now she has lot of dark spots. She took some antibiotics pills and applied ointments. Later she read that the ointment which doctor prescribed, thins out your skin. Horrible isn't it? She went to another doctor, who said that is the side effects of the meds she took for depression issues. Can someone suggest what natural remedies can she apply for the scars.

I would try Vit E oil and then EVCO. Both are good for scars.

Sandy, she might try applying coconut oil, thinly but often.

Scars occur after infections. Instead of investing in any of those oils for scar reduction, simply use an oil you like on them eg. castor oil, almond oil, heck, even olive oil ( not corn or veg oil aka franken-oil) on the scars. Keeping the areas moisturized is key, as moisturization increases cellular turnover. I am 60 and find that my scars generally fade alot in about a year.

She also needs to alkanize in a serious way, boils are bad and will come back if she doesn't do this.

I also have to say that I am horrified, horrified, that Big Harma has even invented something that thins skin! That just sounds.....I don't even know!

Topical DMSO is terrific for healing scars. I used 70% DMSO on a scar 50 years old and it healed it after about 3 months.
