Siberian Husky Has Terrible Skin Condition

Posted by Csharpgrind (Florida, US) on 11/15/2014

Please help. We have a 7 year old Siberian husky. We have taken him to the vet numerous times without any remission. He is on Natural life Lamaderm, and we are afraid to put him on the BARF diet because no matter how slow we make the transfer , he never gets rid of the diarehha. We are afraid to give him treats because of possible skin reactions. He is covered in lesions all over, but mostly on the stomach, armpits, behind ears, and upper back. They are roundish in shape, and release a clear, foul smelling liquid. The liquid smells like very strong dried blood, but no blood is present. Also, the hair falls out in the wound.

We can tell he is depressed and afraid to play in fear of irritating the lesions. He appears to be in no pain. They just itch him terribly, when touched. To the point where he pushes against my hand as hard as he can. The vets have ruled out mange, but unfortunately, we trust none of them now because from what I've read, all dogs have it, it just stays in check with a healthy immune system. We love him very much and after numerous vet visits and hours upon hours of research, we can't help him and we feel terrible. His all white coat now is filled with holes that ooze, and I'm afraid to scratch him in fear we will irritate it. And as you know, Husky's love attention and contact. Please help us get our best friend back to a happy, healthy, playful kid, before he is too old for him to enjoy. Thank you in advance. G, H, and Odin.

Please try cod liver oil, vitamin c, probiotics, and colliodial silver, ACV topically and you should begin to see some good results but it is not a overnight cure but it should certainly help alot

Hello, Csharpgrind (Florida, US) ---

It looks like staph infection and the remedy is online of EC. It is by Ted of Bankok, Thailand and repeated by Theresa (Mn) US. Also, as have researched, these lesions are caused by a parasite as posted by another visitor to EC. Vets are of no help. On dry coat, CS is good and stops itch but needs many repeats. The staph infection remedies are best and tried here on EC.

So go to pet section and search for these. I have to do similar to my big dog, even myself.

All the best, Namaste, Om

Hey G, H & Odin!

In your shoes I would try Ted's mange remedy - try every other day for the first week and see if you notice any improvement. If the improvement is only slight, I would shift to the anti-staph dip. I would also consider alkalizing the water with baking soda - 1 teaspoon into 1 liter of water and this as the only drinking water for 7 days.

Please report back!
