Slow Brain Processing in Adults - Natural Remedies?
Hello
Has anyone come across treatments or solutions for slow brain processing in adults?
Usually these are discussed thoroughly for children but it can be even more crippling for adults, especially career-wise.
Has anyone come across useful information or treatments to speed up a 'slower' brain speed?

Dear Aro,
My dad's dementia reversed some when he started an exercise class for seniors. Some good physical at least every other day is helpful to the brain.
Do something daily that require you to balance. That works your brain too.
Practice memorizing things. It is work but you will get better at it. Poetry is a good thing to memorize.
Make sure you are getting enough quality sleep. (No screens an hour before bed, no caffeine after mid afternoon, sleep in a dark room, take melatonin 20 minutes before you go to bed.) The brain doesn't work as well when it is tired.
Reduce screen use, whether TV/Video watching or scrolling (they call it mindless scrolling for a reason) and instead do something that is good for the brain - crossword puzzles, a game with a friend, some sort of tinkering - make a model ship, knit, etc.
Listen to classical music - especially Mozart, at least some every day.
Eat well. Nourish your body and your brain. Make sure you are getting quality fats like coconut oil and olive oil. A fish oil supplement may be helpful.
Some of these things may be frustrating at first, but remember your goal and persevere. Building brain strength can be as hard as building up muscles through working out. You are fighting the body's desire to not work.

Hi Aro,
I had very good response using the following in an older friend who was having trouble finding the correct words to use in a timely manner in everyday conversations with friends :

It took almost a year to see the improvement, but it was definitely worth the wait!

Unfortunately, there is a hidden pandemic of iodine deficiency that is a bugger to crack. Not because iodine is hard to get or retain but because it appears the #1 cause is still legal for manufacturers to use in things like fire retardants, mattresses, carpet and other consumer good.
The culprit is bromine which takes over the iodine receptors in the thyroid.
The problem with bromine is that if you get enough iodine to displace it, you then have bromine everywhere, just as it's in the soil, water supply, landfills etc. and it's used, medically, to induce comas so when you have it running around loose, you just feel like hell and can't think properly.
Some good news -
I stopped supplementing iodine because of it but seem to have discovered a way around the whole trap of crap feeling that can go on for a couple of years as the body flushes out bromine while still being exposed to it.
Activated charcoal. I keep a jar of activated charcoal in water in the fridge of drink from it often - like after eating anything that's processed and just often because of the toxic world manufacturing has created.
I use 2 heaping scoops (in my case, that is a coffee scoop which I believe is a single tablespoon size) to a pint jar of water.
I would use 1 capsule of dulse followed by a slug of charcoal every morning and drink a slug of charcoal before each meal and see what happens. There are also herbs and other natural supplements to help with brain fog. Natural supplements would not be affected by the charcoal which will simply "clean them up" of any unnatural additives they may contain or toxins that may be in the packaging.
Iodine deficiency is one of those things for which the remedy can be worse than the problem. We're not talking about the chilled, happy, sleepy high of barbiturates. Bromine is horrible - brutal even. It is NOT something you want running around the body unchecked.
Fortunately, there's no escaping the karma of knowingly engaging in such despicable activities but always keep in mind that there's also no escaping the karma of hating such people so don't even go there. Just focus on forming the habit of happily taking a little swig of charcoal every time you open the fridge door and don't worry about it because it's already "half past too late" to fix this and the multitude of other problems created by man's pride/greed.
Nature is probably going to have to wait until man is gone before she can even start to properly bury the mess he's made so, drink your charcoal, enjoy your life and cultivate and maintain the good karma of a non-tortured heart by enjoying and relishing every moment of the good karma such an existence creates!

I neglected to mention that eating real food and/or detoxing can also dislodge the bromine, just like the tiny amount of DMSO in rainwater can dislodge illicit drugs and anesthesia drugs or sedatives the body may have locked that you may have taken or had administered in the past creating "flashbacks" if you get caught in the rain so, don't be alarmed or quit - just be aware and drink your charcoal.
