Staph Foliculitis Only On Groin Area Help

Hi guys,

I have just stumbled across this site trying to seek natural remedies to my 3 year diagnosed staph folliculitis. I caught scabies at the hospital that I worked at, this was mis-diagnosed as a shaving rash, my GP laughed at me and told me to start waxing. Due to misdiagnosis, the infection grew worse and I wound up in the Emergency Dept. with infected scabies which in turn lead to staph.

Since this diagnosis, I have had multiple break outs localised ONLY in my groin region. I have been tested for herpes three times and still no positive result, so I was losing my mind trying to figure out what the hell was happening to me. I requested a dermatologist referral and was seen by a local derm. He diagnosed me with folliculitis caused by staph and naturally put me of a cocktail of antibiotics. At first the anti's worked but as we all know, this wound up being a bandaid and since this time, I have wound up on anti's three times.

One of the 'cillin's' has been the anti of choice for my GP but I am beginning to become resistant to them so I have decided that I will no longer take them as I need to 'save' them for if/when something serious occurs. The staph folliculitis has resulted in boils on my bikini line and on the 'face' of my groin and these boils are a nightmare.. They are solid like rocks, they never produce a head and they hang around for 3-6 weeks depending on the severity. I can no longer shave down there as every single time I take a razor to the area, BANG another boil.

The reason for this long winded cry for help is this: I had a serious boil on the right side of my groin (on the bikini line) which had to be lanced and drained. I was put on anti's (a 'cillin' once again) and some prescription ointment and within a week the boil subsided although it is still rock hard just really small. I was also left with ugly purple scarring. I thought YES it's over again and now two weeks later I have had another boil show up on the exact opposite side of my groin (bikini line again).

Once again, I am wearing loose pants without underwear, using the same ointment (left over from last time) but I am absolutely loathe to return to the GP. Every time I take anti's I develop thrush and I just can't handle my parts suffering any more. My confidence is shot, I feel diseased and I cannot bear the idea of being intimate with my fiance. I have read the posts on this site for the last 4 hours, and tomorrow being pay day is where I will start.

I plan to buy turmeric pills, and in its powder form from the local indian grocers. I already have ACV and white vinegar so I plan to utilise this as a remedy too. I have just changed to a vegetarian diet in the last 3 weeks and I have seen a naturopath who has prescribed me with a herbal dietary supplement consisting of astragalus root, ligustrum lucidum fruit and ganodema lucidem mushroom to assist my immune system to recover. He has also recommended a probiotic to help balance my bacteria.

What I really want to know from this wonderful community is HOW I attack this as it is localised in my groin. Most of what I have read has referred to scalp form of this disease and I cannot utilise a lot of the info. I am unable to 'wrap' the site, I am unable to gauze/cover the site, I work full time so I cannot spend hours applying wash cloths to the region as I need privacy to do so. Please help me figure out a way to apply these remedies specifically for this highly sensitive area.

Thanks so much for being amazing you earth clinic community, I have saved this website as a favourite and I keenly await any assistance.

With Warm Regards, DaniBee86

Danni, do your research on Blackseed Oil (nigella sativa). It is very effective against staph infections. Apply topically a couple times a day and when you can, apply topically and apply a warm compress for 10 minutes to potentiate the phytochemicals in the oils. Take the oil 2X a day, orally also. This oil is potent. I am pretty surprised more people are not using it in their health arsenals. Good luck!

Good advice from Dave and Mw. If I might add, it is suggested to take the anti-pathogen herbs at noon or before retiring so to potentiate the probiotics you should take first thing upon waking. The ND prescribed herbs will help build immunity and the Black Seed Oil acts directly upon the pathogen.

To back up a bit and return to basics, dermal infection can be a sign of Zinc & Vit-A deficiency; these two nutrients are critical for healthy immunity as well as directly protecting epithelial tissues from damage or infection.

One more topical remedy which could prove effective is Australian Eucalyptus combined w/ 190 proof pure grain alcohol. Start w/ only 1 or 2 drops Eucalyptus to maybe one or two dropper full of alcohol. Just be careful to not burn the area, in which case a warm moist washcloth will relieve.

MyWay--I started black seed oil several days ago, taking 1/4 tsp at night. I have had terrible diarrhea from this. I would like your opinion-do I continue, take it differetnly, orwith food? I have ibs-d, so diarrhea is common for me. I have been taking immodium so that I can get to work. I welcome your suggestions. Thanks

Bama, have you ever used food grade diatomaceous earth (DE) as a supplement for your irritable bowel? The black seed oil has a bit of a laxative effect but because I take a tablespoon of DE daily mixed in water, I have had no problem because it has a binding effect. Did you want to take black seed oil to support your immune system?

Try taking the black seed oil after your meal and see what happens. Report back!

Thanks for the response. I did take DE years ago, but after 6 months I couldn't tell that it did anything and I stopped. I am taking the BSO to build my immune system as well as to regulate my cholesterol. I work with the public and am at ballgames, etc, almost daily so am exposed to everything that goes around.
