Strange Rash on Arms After Cutting Grass

Posted by Nell (Reno) on 08/29/2016

I cut the grass yesterday, awfully hot. Today, I have rough skin on the undersides of my arms (the part not exposed to the sun). This skin is smooth, just not soft like the rest of my arm. It is darker, almost looks dirty, with whitish spots. This seems to extend up my arm into my armpits. From a distance, I look tanned. But close up it just looks like I've gotten dirty and need a wash. I did put on Virgin Coconut Oil this morning, but it seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. Halfway down my forearms and up into the armpit. Any ideas what it could be and what to do for it?

Hmmm... My guess would be reaction to a pesticide. It doesn't sound like this would be the case if you are in Reno, Nevada but as you may know, they are starting to spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes for Zika in certain parts of the US, so don't rule that out either. Try a charcoal poultice topically on a section of your arm to see if it helps and if so, apply it other sections. You might also want to drink two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in water to detoxify the liver.

I'm out very rural, no pesticides on my grass for the 30 years I've lived here and no spraying for zika--I don't think the gov't knows we exist out here, really. The brown rash has softened and lightened up, so it must have been a temporary thing. Thanks for your response.
