Ticks Carrying Malaria
Dear Earth clinic, the ticks here in NJ are carrying Malaria. What protocol can I use at home for prevention? And what should I have on hand if I get Malaria, and/or a tick bite? My friend got malaria last week from a tick by my house. There is an increase in ticks this spring. Thanks

Hi Stephanie,
Two you will want to read about for malaria are colloidal silver nanoparticles and methylene blue.

Dear earth clinic, and Art, and Rob,
Thank you.
I have mercury tooth fillings which I cant remove.
Can I still try methylene blue?
And is there a product/company for colloidal silver nanoparticles that you have heard good results? and what ppm?
Is there a way to find out(at home) if I can take lugols iodine? I have mercury, goiters, graves, etc...
Also, do you know of a natural quinine?
Do you know if garlic powder would work the same in the body? We wont have real garlic in nj until july 1.
Thanks!

PREVENTION:
Eating garlic daily is a popular folk remedy for insect (tick) bite prevention. The garlic sowers the blood so that ticks, fleas and mosquito's don't want t feed on you. A double blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial followed 80 Swedish soldiers and measured the number of tick bites received over each phase of the trial. The results show a modest but statistically significant reduction in tick bites attributable to daily consumption of 1200 mg. of garlic daily.
MALARIA TREATMENT:
John Brookshire, an aerospace engineer with an passionate interest holistic healing, met a missionary struggling with the devastating effects of malaria and the inability of current treatments to combat malaria. A search of holistic treatments from the 1930's Iodine used to treat various illnesses, including malaria. The exact formulation of this medicine from the 1930's appears to have been lost as the parent manufacturing company was bought and sold many times within a few years.
An Indian (from India) who is credited with ushering Iodine into the Medical Hall of Fame. His name is Sunker Bisey. He won a contest run by an English Manufacturing firm in which the winner would get a full scholarship at a major British university. Bisey boarded a ship to jolly old England, waved goodbye to his family, but never made it to the university. Arriving in England dying of Malaria, he was treated to the best physicians the British Isles had to offer, but to no avail, and he soon opted to die in his homeland, and set sail. At a stopover in France where firing up kilns of seaweed was now the latest craze, someone suggested treating the dying lad with Iodine. Long story short: Bisey finished his education in England and set sail for New York where he intended on bringing this magnificent new treatment for disease to the world.
Treatment method: Malaria was treated with 20 drops of lugol's iodine in a half glass of water given 4 or 5 times during the first day and then going to 10 drops of iodine 4 times a day for 3 more days. A slide study of the blood shows that the malaria is gone from the body.
Iodine in Malaria.
The Quinologist Volume 5, page 752,1882
Baboo Brojendra Nath Banerjee used tincture of iodine, in 1879, in more than 500 cases, and thought that many of them were cured as if by magic. In 1880 he again tried it, but with less success . The cause of this discrepancy was that he had at first overlooked the fact that in every malarial epidemic there are many cases of ephemeral or one-day fever, with a temperature of 105 or 106 degs., a pulse of 120 or 130, quick and labored respiration, intense headache, and even delirium. In these cases there is only one febrile attack, which does not recur. When medicine is given in such cases, the non-recurrence of the attack is ascribed to the medicine and whatever happens to be given appears to cure the fever. Intermittent fever also tends to spontaneous cure on the third, fourth, fifth, and even seventh or eighth day. Old women in the country villages of India are acquainted with this fact, and wait until the third day before they give medicine. His experience since he became acquainted with ephemeral fever and the spontaneous cure of intermittent fever has shown him that while iodine may cure about 55 per cent. of malarial cases, it cannot rival quinine. In many respects it is much inferior to it. There are very few persons who cannot tolerate quinine, whereas iodine disagrees with many. It cannot and never should be given when there is nausea or vomiting and burning of the skin. It is certain to aggravate these symptoms fourfold and make the patient nearly mad. Distressing symptoms are sometimes produced by iodine. It produces flushing of the face, severe vomiting and retching, intense burning of the skin, formication, injection of the conjunctivæ, and coryza. — Indian Med. Gazette. ~ 1882

Hi again, Stephanie.
Methylene blue should not be a problem with fillings and you should be able to almost completely avoid contact between the two by having a local compounding pharmacy make up methylene blue capsules for you. They can advise you on the milligrams to take for your specific purpose.
As far as colloidal silver nanoparticles, the only true yellow AgNPs (20 ppm) that I am aware of were sold by Earth Clinic up until about a year ago. Perhaps you can contact EC and see if they can make a special batch for you?
