UTI Symptoms But All Testing is Negative

Posted by Paceo872 (Manhattan, Ny) on 12/03/2018

I'm male 22 in good shape, and for the past 3 months I have had UTI symptoms but test negative on all culture tests. I also recently did a STD screening and all my results were negative as well. It burns when I pee and I have a urge to go all day every day. I've been living with this pain for so long and every urologist I go to doesn't have a answer for me. They push me on random antibiotics and I take the full course but proceed to get worse and worse. I've been researching, and I started to taking D–Mannose and Oregano Oil. But does anyone have a similar experience? Or have a better idea for treatment / what might be going on?

You can't go wrong with Apple Cider Vinegar, with the 'mother' (cloudy, I use Bragg's but there are others). Start with 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar in water every hour or so, you should start to feel the difference after several hours.

Paceo, try drinking more water than usual. Plain water.

You could get a list of foods high in oxalic acid and see if you eat any of those. Oxalic acid binds with magnesium, preventing absorption. My husband eats a lot of peanut butter and that gave him a problem but taking lemon juice and ACV helped. He has been taking 250 mg. of magnesium oxide for prevention.

You could try taking magnesium oxide before meals and before bed to see if that helps. If the burning subsides the Nutrition Almanac reports, people with oxalate stones are helped with 200 mg. of magnesium daily. Whether stones are formed from calcium or oxalates, magnesium is needed and is reported deficient in our food supply.

Finally, do you drink water out of plastic bottles? If I drink water out of a plastic bottle I will get a headache.

Dear Paceo872,

I know of a midwife that prescribes probiotics to help with UTI's. If you have had a lot of antibiotics, this is likely quite important anyway.

You could try plantain tea, a gentle but effective remedy. A couple of cups daily for a couple of weeks may help calm things down and keep them calm.

Mullein root tincture may also be helpful for a more chronic situation.

Hello Paceo,

The burning is due to excess acidity, and so I have attached for you the baking soda section for this affliction https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/bladder_infection4.html#bs

This along with plantain tea have helped me greatly, the baking soda and water must be done on empty stomach, it will react with food and stop digestion.

The ACV you are taking has many benefits, and if a person has enough bicarbonates in their body for their digestion these acids do become alkaline, same with lemon juice. However if a person does not have enough bicarbonates, to neutralize the acid, this occurs in second stage digestion, these remedies will make the body more acid. I would therefore mix any ACV or lemon juice remedy with half TSP of baking soda when taking, but first use only baking soda with water for a day, this will provide benefit to the uti, then add the BS to the ACV.

Plantain tea 750 ml a day has had great success also, but I feel you need to get your acids in order, this will help a lot with the burning. Don't quit your remedies too soon, it can spread to the kidneys if not completely cleared, and since you have had this infection for months I would continue after all your symptoms have gone another seven days. The BS tastes quite nice with fresh lemon juice and water before bed. Best to you

Paceo872,

In the early stages of kidney stones, there can be similarities to a UTI such as pain when urinating and doctor's may miss this if they are specifically looking for a UTI.

Here is a link to an article that discusses these two and how to tell them apart:

https://www.belmarrahealth.com/kidney-stones-vs-urinary-tract-infection-uti-differences-in-symptoms-causes-and-treatment/

There are multiple remedies here on EC for kidney stones in that section of the forum.

Paceo872,

After over a month of suffering from a UTI, I finally knocked it out with Echinacea Augustifolia tincture. Prior to trying the Echinacea, I had tried cranberry (plain juice and capsules), D-mannose, high doses of vitamin C, and apple cider vinegar. At one point, I began to get worse and had blood in my urine (along with all the other common symptoms of frequent and painful burning urination.) I believe it correlated with taking anything acidic. If I had even 1 cup of coffee I could also feel an increase in bladder irritation and burning when I went pee. So avoid coffee, tea, and sugar.

Next I tried the remedies suggested on pantrypharmacy.com. I suggest going to that site to learn more about home testing and possible remedies based on test results. I took tons of raw garlic, cayenne pepper, cinnamon tea, and turmeric for a couple of weeks. Things got a somewhat better, but I still had symptoms. I continued with the recommended protocol and added olive leaf extract capsules. I felt a little better at that point, but still not a complete cure. After consuming 300 capsules / 2 bottles (up to 16 capsules daily) of the olive leaf extract, along with smaller amounts of raw garlic and cayenne, 5 mornings of taking 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar mixed with water, and lots of hibiscus tea, I decided I needed to support and rev up my immune system rather than trying the “kill method.”

Here's what finally worked for me:

1. One full dropperful of Echinacea Augustifolia tincture per 50 pounds. I weigh about 135 Lbs. so I rounded up to 3 dropperfuls of the tincture (I think that's a total of about 75 drops). This was 1 dose. *Take 1 dose (3 dropperfuls in my case) in a cup of water every 1-2 hours while UTI symptoms persist. This will seem like a large quantity of tincture to consume but it is absolutely safe. I went through about 10 ounces of tincture in total (over the course of a couple weeks) to clear up the infection.

2. Drink about a liter of distilled water every 1-2 hours all day long. Drink more water when I get up in the middle of the night to pee. Avoid cold water. Room temperature or warm is best.

3. First thing in the morning, take a large glass of distilled water with a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of baking soda added. May take another before bed.

4. Take 1-2 drops of poke root tincture per day. *Do not take more than 1-2 drops (not droppers/ dropperfuls) per day! I only did this for about 5 days. I had the poke root in my medicine cabinet to clear mastitis (breast infection while nursing). I got it from herblore.com.

5. Take large quantities of probiotics. Women can also insert a FemDophilis probiotic capsule in vagina at night.

6. 2 strong cups of yarrow tea daily. Add a couple spoonfuls of loose dried yarrow flowers to freshly boiled water and steep for 30+ minutes. * Once symptoms subside, you can taper off the Echinacea, and stop the poke root. Continue taking the Echinacea— same dosage but less frequently (such as every 4 hours) for a week or so. Continue drinking distilled water.

I would also suggest that you make sure you're not dealing with an STD, fungal infection / yeast, or interstitial cystitis. For more info on suggested herbal remedies, you can do an internet search for “Susun Weed Echinacea bladder infection” and several informative articles will pop up. Hope this helps!
