What Can I Give My Mother To Help Her Recover From Her Stroke?

Posted by Anonymous (Usa) on 07/29/2015

My mom had a stroke last month in June on the 5th, and it took place in a burger king restaurant. It turned out it was a mini stroke. She went to the hospital. She's now in a nursing home sometime before this month of July. I can understand her now clearly, just when she gets upset she still have some slurred speech just a little like stuttering.

But I want to know is there a faster cure like healthy beverages? Brew tea is something I know is good. Green tea is also another. Is there anything else that can be in good use for my mom that can help the cure for her ? Please help!!! Thank you!

Dear Anonymous,

There are definitely things you can do to help your mom recover well. Sadly, most nursing homes do not have "high nutrition" foods for patients, when that is when they need them most! Fresh fruits would be great for her and she may be able to keep some in her room to eat as snacks.

Dehydration is common among the elderly. Yes, quality teas would be great. Carrot juice would be wonderful! Some health food stores would have this. Often in nursing homes patients are given liquid nutrition supplements that are really quite unhealthy.

If you could find a way to get some extra virgin coconut oil into her diet, that would be great. At first just a teaspoon a couple of times a day. Perhaps on toast or crackers?

Vitamin C and B complex would be two great vitamins for her, as well.

When you are with her, get her to take little walks with you. Exercise is so important. Also, many nursing homes have activities each day, bingo, singing etc. These are good things for keeping her brain active. Some residents don't like to attend but encourage her to go if she is so inclined.

My dad had a mild stroke 8 years ago and recovered very well from it. (And I did not live nearby to him to do any of the above! ) I hope that you mother will also experience an excellent recovery.

You should look into turmeric and coconut oil, coconut oil is extremely effective for any brain injury and also all brain diseases are helped enormously by coconut oil.
