What is the Correct Borax Dosage?

Posted by Shaz (London) on 08/06/2015 3 posts

Please, please can someone clarify the daily dosage of borax for a woman with mycoplasma?

The info on the net is alarmingly muddled.

Is it:

a) a quarter of a teaspoon in a litre of water and drink this throughout the day.

b) a teaspoon in a litre a day and have a teaspoon of this mixture 3 times a day.

c) WHAT?

Thanks guys.

Dear Shaz,

I am not sure what the exact dosage would be for your condition. Each person is different.

I believe that, as a general rule, Ted recommends 1/8th teaspoon borax in a liter of water for women daily for four days, off three.

But I have also seen recommendations for it to be much more diluted. (Walter Last's advice, I think?)

My husband has been taking borax for about a year. The recommended 1/4 teaspoon per day for a man (diluted in a liter of water) was too much for him. (Caused an upset stomach.) So he takes a very small amount about 4 days a week. Less than 1/16th of a teaspoon in about 3 pints of water. (I am not trying to give you another recipe..just saying what he is doing.)

All that to say, it is generally best to start small and increase slowly.

Has your husband seen any difference after a year of taking borax?

What I have read is this...1 tsp in a liter of water. Take ONE teaspoon out of this diluted mixture, put in water or drink. Take 1 times a day, up to 3 times a day, depending on the severity of your illness.

Or, take 1/8 to 1/4 of a teaspoon in a liter of water, drink all day until gone.

I have fibromyalgia and arthritis, been pretty sick, so I am up to a tablespoon of the concentrate three times daily in tea or water.

I got this off the internet and is how I determined the amount I would take....

To make the borax concentrate, dissolve one level teaspoon of borax in one quart/litre of water. To get a dose of 7 mg of boron per day, mix one teaspoonful of concentrate with water and take it twice daily with meals. Take 3 to 7 mg (half to one teaspoon) of boron per day for optimal health, if you have no specific problems. For arthritis, osteoporosis, muscle cramps, joint pain or stiffness, or low hormone production take 10 mg (1.5 teaspoon) or more per day for several months or longer until your ailment has sufficiently improved. For fungal infections including candida, mycoplasmas, removing fluoride from the body. Take 100 ml (14 teaspoons) of the concentrated solution per day. Mix it with other drinks or food, and space it out over the whole day. This will provide a dose of about 70 mg of boron per day. Always start with a low dose and gradually increase it. Take regular breaks from the full dose, either taking the full dose 4 or 5 days per week as long as required, or going back down to the maintenance dose for one week each month. When you consume borax it seems to work synergistically with magnesium, so keep your magnesium intake up whilst taking borax. At least 400 mg per day. Up to 600 mg per day. Don't take more than this.

Hope this helps.
